On May 30st, 2010, the Volunteer Club of the DTU forum organized an event entitled “sharing happiness on June 1st” at the Village of Hope. The objective was to bring needy children hope, joy, peace and understanding.
The administration board of the Forum of Duy Tan University (FDTU), the head of the Volunteer Club and many DTU students went to the village for the event.
DTU students showed their affection and generosity for needy children by offering their enthusiasm, moral support and some educational materials. Two weeks after launching the program, the Volunteer Club members collected over 2 million VND to buy children’s books and gifts. They gave gifts to twenty students with outstanding school results. Due to the their support, the children at the Village of Hope passed a very special day with big smiles on their faces.
“These unlucky, disadvantaged children have suffered a lot, so our volunteers are taking care of them. "With contributions from ourselves and from the Party and Government, we believe that they will overcome their difficulties and have a bright future”, said Mr. Truong Thanh Nam, Head of the Club.
