On April 19th, the DTU Business Enterprises Conference took place to discuss ideas and ways of enhancing the quality of education at DTU.
DTU signs a partnership agreement with businesses
Over the years, collaborations between DTU and businesses have resulted in significant achievements in supplying highly-qualified human resources for the local and national labor market. Mr. Nguyen Phu Tan, Director of the DTU Business Relationship Committee overviewed current and potential partnerships.
Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice-Director of the Danang Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, acknowledged the contributions that DTU has made to the development of Danang. He said:
"2014 has been chosen as the 'Danang Year for Business' and we highly appreciate DTU’s initiative in organizing this conference. DTU provides highly-trained staff for five-star resorts, hotels and restaurants, according to the guidelines of local government to boost Danang competitiveness. We commit to support DTU in developing further partnerships with local business and other activities which contribute to the development of Danang."

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, Vice-Director of Danang Information and Communications, said: "By collaborating with many well-known American universities to improve the quality of education, DTU has been able to provide a skilled workforce to key industries in Danang, especially to local IT companies. Danang has set a target to grow its software industry at an annual rate of 30% to 35%. DTU will definitely make a major contribution in achieving this goal."
The DTU Graduate Scholarship Fund
To encourage and acknowledge individuals for their excellence in establishing strong relationships with local business, DTU has launched an initiative to reward the top five students with the biggest contributions. At the event, the DTU Graduate Scholarship Fund received fifteen million VND from graduate candidates.
DTU has signed partnership agreements with many companies, including the Management Board of the Danang Construction Project, FPT, the Bao Long Insurance Company, and the Xuan Thanh Insurance Company. Under the agreements, DTU will provide qualified staff to its partners, enable experts from those companies to teach and conduct research projects at DTU. The partners will provide internships and full-time employment for qualified DTU students and graduates.
