Liaoning University Visits Duy Tan University

On 12th January, 2011, representatives from University of Science and Technology Liaoning (USTL) were warmly welcomed by Mr. Le Duc Toan, DTU Vice Rector, Deans of the Foreign Language Faculty and staff of the International School.

Mr. Zhou Xiao Long, Project Manager, and Ms. Kelly Tran briefly introduced USTL and expressed the willingness to cooperate with DTU. In 2011, the DTU Foreign Language Department will offer a new bilingual major, teaching students both English and Chinese simultaneously. Ms. Tran Thi Tho, the Deputy Dean of Foreign Languages Department said: “Our faculty really wants to cooperate with USTL to introduce this new major. Students will spend from one to two years at DTU and then complete their course at USTL in a further two to three years”.

USTL has just launched a project to expand partnerships with Vietnamese universities. The curricula are designed divided into in Chinese and English so students can choose to study according to their own abilities. Mr. Zhou Xiao Long said: “DTU is one university in Vietnam that we want to collaborate with. We will try our best to help Vietnamese students to study at our university”.

The University of Science and Technology in Liaoning (USTL) was established in 1948. Over the last sixty years, USTL has been a multi-level, multi-discipline university with majors in Engineering, Business Administration, Chemical Technology, Architecture, English Language and so on. The USTL is well-known for its courses in chemical technology supporting workers in Anshan City, China.
