DTU Partners with VietJet and Aviation Academy for Internships and Student Exchange

DTU and VietJet Aviation JSC officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement on November 17, 2025, marking an important step forward in connecting university training with real-world practice in the Vietnamese aviation industry.

This partnership follows DTU’s previous agreements with the Vietnam Aviation Academy on credit recognition, with Vietnam Airlines on internship opportunities, and with Chodang University (Korea) on student exchanges for the major in Aviation. These collaborations are shaping a comprehensive ecosystem of “training, experience, and recruitment”, and mapping dependable “flight paths” for DTU students in aviation.

Students’ dreams take flight through partnership with VietJet

The strategic cooperation agreement with VietJet not only opens up well-structured programs for training, practice, and recruitment, but also gives wings to DTU students’ dreams to soar with one of the leading airlines in Vietnam and in the region.

Under this collaboration, VietJet will work with DTU to organize career-orientation events like seminars, talk shows, and workshops focused on aviation, tourism, and services. DTU students will also get opportunities to:

-    visit the company,
-    experience the real work environment at VietJet,
-    access diverse career opportunities for different positions that align with market needs.

VietJet will participate in training, guest lecturing, and professional coaching. They will also cooperate with DTU to implement scientific research, share data, and carry out corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs in aviation and tourism.

Immediately after the signing, VietJet organized its Central Vietnam Recruitment Day on November 29, 2025. DTU students had an exciting and highly beneficial experience as they went through the complete selection process for professional flight attendants. From application screening, height and BMI checks, catwalk, and appearance evaluations to in-person interviews with the recruitment panel, every step was conducted professionally, giving the students a better understanding of the practical requirements of the sector.

In addition to observing the selection rounds and directly participating in the BMI physical assessment, DTU students could also listen to insights about the work of a flight attendant - a position that requires a high sense of responsibility, the ability to handle many situations, communication skills, and a professional demeanor to ensure safety and deliver the best possible experience to all passengers.

A milestone worth recalling is the cooperation agreement between DTU and the Vietnam Aviation Academy, signed on August 2, 2024.

This agreement focuses on training, credit recognition, manpower training, scientific research, and technology transfer. In addition, DTU and the Vietnam Aviation Academy will work together to develop an ecosystem for startups and innovation that offers a solid foundation for developing new initiatives that contribute to the development of aviation and related economic fields. The collaboration gives students access to the latest knowledge and additional practice opportunities in a professional and dynamic environment, to be well-prepared for new challenges in the aviation industry.

Variety of international internship and student-exchange programs

The exchange semester in Korea has become a highly popular training program among students in Tourism Management & Aviation Service at DTU’s Hospitality & Tourism Institute (HTi). This strategic training component adheres to international standards through the partnership between DTU and Chodang University, Republic of Korea.

The program offers students access to advanced international education, in-depth knowledge, and professional skill development to enhance their competitiveness in the global job market.

To date, three cohorts of DTU students (2023, 2024, 2025) have participated in the exchange semester program under the collaboration with Chodang University. There, DTU students are exposed to a wide range of essential professional training:

-    practice inside an aircraft cabin,
-    in-flight beverage preparation,
-    makeup,
-    image building,
-    communication procedures,
-    English in aviation.

In addition, each DTU student is paired with a Korean Aviation student who accompanies and supports them with issues that may arise in their studies and daily life in the “land of kimchi”, using English and aviation English throughout.

Beyond the valuable knowledge and hands-on experience gained during the semester at Chodang University, DTU students also receive a full tuition waiver for their studies there. After completing the exchange program in South Korea, the 15 academic credits earned at Chodang University are transferred back to DTU. This allows students to stay on track with their original study plan, allows them to experience an international academic environment, and enhances the value of their degrees.

Alongside the Korea exchange program, DTU students can now do internships at Vietnam Airlines. Acting as Vietnam Airlines service employees, many students of Tourism Management & Aviation Service have worked directly on customer support tasks such as assisting passengers with scanning QR codes, registering for the Lotusmiles membership program, filling out personal information, and explaining various outstanding membership benefits.

Joint activities by DTU and reputable academies, organizations, and businesses have been providing DTU students of Aviation with numerous opportunities to learn, gain experience, and apply their knowledge in real-world settings, in addition to access to promising career prospects.
