The Vietnam Female Students in Science & Technology Awards 2025 recognize female students with exceptional academic achievements, scientific publications domestically or abroad, awards in academic competitions, and active participation in Union & Association activities and student movements. Each awardee is an example of intelligence, determination, and dedication of the new generation of young female Vietnamese intellectuals.
Ngoc Han’s journey is marked not only by her outstanding academic achievements but also by her dynamic, confident spirit and her willingness to inspire the community with her passion for scientific research.

A brilliant girl’s journey

In a field once considered a male stronghold, the presence of a petite, gentle, yet energetic female student like Ngoc Han brings a new breeze into the Civil Engineering classrooms at DTU. Beyond her bright appearance, Ngoc Han has earned the respect of her male classmates through her seriousness in learning and scientific research, which have yielded numerous impressive achievements.

“I chose Civil Engineering not only because I love building, but also because I admire the engineers who created great works,” Ngoc Han explains. “More than just designers or builders, civil engineers are the guardians of community safety, lives, and trust. This belief has turned into a powerful motivation that keeps me working hard. Every course, every drawing, and every hour of practice at DTU is a small step bringing me closer to my dream of becoming a skilled engineer who contributes real value to society.”

Driven by this sense of responsibility, Ngoc Han has continuously worked to prove herself in studies and research. Not only has she been an outstanding student for many years, she has also earned a great many awards:

Ngoc Han’s prestigious awards

On her secret to balancing studies, research, movement activities, and personal life, Ngoc Han is candid: “Finding harmony between classwork, scientific research, training with the Mechanics Olympiad team, Union & Association activities, and tutoring requires a high level of discipline. I create a to-do list to manage my time efficiently, but I also don’t forget to allow myself short breaks to recharge. The most important lessons I’ve learned is how to focus on priorities, have the right focus at the right time, avoid biting off more than I can chew, and not being overly perfectionistic.”

Ngoc Han adds that her biggest challenge is not lack of knowledge but maintaining mental stability and balance amid the fast pace of study and responsibilities. “I’m fortunate that I’ve always got dedicated guidance from the lecturers of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at DTU,” she says frankly. “They’ve guided me step-by-step from basic to advanced. I especially want to express my gratitude to Hero of Labor and Meritorious Teacher Le Cong Co, who deeply inspired me with his ‘four essential qualities of Union cadre: learning, research, entrepreneurship, and community."

The “little gem” of DTU’s Civil Engineering program is always passionate to learn

Ngoc Han has already outlined a plan for the near future: to strengthen her professional knowledge and continue pursuing applied research, especially in sustainable materials and structural safety, areas in which she and her research team obtained promising results. She hopes to take these studies further, publish in international journals, and apply them in construction projects. This would allow her to contribute to the development of civil engineering in Vietnam.

Ngoc Han’s dedication also extends to building meaningful youth projects that benefit the community, especially initiatives supporting people in remote or disadvantaged areas. For her, even the smallest project is a way to apply her specialized knowledge in real life, improve living conditions, and spread the spirit of “engineers for the community.”
