On the morning of October 15, 2025, DTU solemnly celebrated the tenth anniversary of its Faculty of Medicine, marking a proud ten-year journey of knowledge and dedication. The event was an opportunity to honor those who laid the foundation for medical training at DTU, and it marked a significant milestone reaffirming the faith and aspiration to continue the noble mission: “To heal and serve humanity.”

Hero of Labor and Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co speaking at the ceremony
To the event had been invited: MSc MD Hoang Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital, and MSc Le Xuan Binh, Deputy Head of HR at the Danang Department of Health. From DTU there were Hero of Labor and Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU Founder and Chairman, Secretary of the Party Committee; together with numerous distinguished guests, staff, lecturers, and students of the Faculty of Medicine.
“Looking back on the difficult early days, when we had just established the Faculty of Medicine, we started from zero: no people, no facilities, no hospital,” Hero of Labor and Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co said at the ceremony. “Yet, through unwavering determination and collective effort, the Nursing program was the first to see the light, paving the way for Medicine in 2015. Medicine is a special field - it’s where conscience, knowledge, and compassion come together. A doctor must always remember that ‘a good physician is like a caring mother’, be grateful to life, and live for others. This year, DTU will begin construction of the DTU Hospital, which will provide healthcare services and free treatment for the poor.”

Tenth anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine, marking a proud ten-year journey of knowledge and dedication
Over the past 10 years, DTU has built a team of lecturers that include professors, PhDs, Masters, and medical doctors with strong professional expertise who have published many research papers in prestigious domestic and international journals and received various honors and major awards for their teaching and research. Students of the Faculty of Medicine have won numerous national scientific research awards, and many alumni have been hired as resident doctors at major hospitals. Of note is the Medical Simulation Practice Center, a state-of-the-art facility valued at over 30 billion VND, where students can practice in a simulated real-patient environment - a remarkable advancement compared to many private universities in Vietnam. In the near future, the university plans to launch a Medical Laboratory Technology program and expand continuing medical education courses to meet the demand for high-quality healthcare professionals in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.
