Ha Bao Chau, a freshman from Danang who lost both parents and has to work to cover her own education - received joyful news when DTU awarded her a scholarship fully covering tuition throughout the four years of her studies.
Chau is a determined young woman who has overcome hardship and successfully passed the 2025 university entrance examination, being admitted to the Tourism and Travel Management program at DTU.
Chau began working part-time when she was in Grade 10th. Every summer, she took on seasonal jobs - sometimes as a part-time staff member at a tourist site, sometimes waiting tables at a café, or helping out at a restaurant. After completing the national high school exam, she immediately found a job at a warehouse as an order checker for a delivery company. After work, she returned home, cooked for herself, tidy up the house, and tend the altar of her late parents.

“Working part-time helped me feel less lonely while also improving my skills and saving money for university,” Chau shared. The freshman affirmed that with her strong academic performance (achieving excellent student status in both Grade 11 and 12), she was confident that she would get into university and had therefore prepared everything in advance.
After reading about Ha Bao Chau’s special circumstances and her admirable willpower when facing hardship, the Director of the DTU Enrollment Center promptly reported to the DTU Board of Provosts. Moved by Bao Chau’s resilience and potential, the DTU Provost decided to award her a scholarship fully covering tuition throughout the four years of her studies.
“The decision not only reflects the administration’s considerations but also reaffirms the university’s educational philosophy of serving the community and its commitment to nurturing talent, creating equal opportunities, and spreading human values -to ensure that no student has to give up their dream of education due to difficulties in life.” the Admissions Center stated.

The Full scholarship not only opens the door to knowledge but also strengthens her belief in herself - empowering this orphaned girl to nurture her dreams and conquer her university path with unwavering determination and willpower.
