Themed "AI vs AI: The New Cybersecurity Battlefield," CyberCon Asia 2025, held at DTU from September 13 to 14, 2025, presented a completely new perspective on ensuring cybersecurity in an era where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly advancing, offering numerous opportunities while also posing significant challenges.
CyberCon Asia 2025 is co-organized by Fore (Japan), Suganuma Group (Japan), and DTU (Vietnam), with support from a Member of the House of Councillors of Japan, the Japanese Consulate in Vietnam, and Colina Dreamcatcher. The conference attracts 100 technology executives, over 500 enterprises, and 50 exhibitors. Throughout the event, speakers from Vietnam and Japan share knowledge, discuss critical issues, and propose innovative solutions to protect the digital future of nations and businesses.

Speakers share insights on the theme "AI vs AI: The New Cybersecurity Battlefield"
Senator and Secretary-General of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance, Tsuruho Yosuke, expressed his joy at returning to DTU for the second time to attend such a meaningful event as CyberCon Asia. He stated: "Cybersecurity is no longer an issue for any single country but has become a global challenge. In recent years, sophisticated fraud and credit theft have caused significant harm to governments, businesses, and citizens. The threat has become even more complex with the rapid development of AI. This reality underscores the necessity of cooperation, knowledge sharing, and experience exchange more than ever before. CyberCon Asia 2025 embodies this spirit, becoming a strategic forum where we can work together to find solutions and build a safer digital world."
"I am pleased to see Vietnam join the Asia-Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT). This is a great example of international cooperation, where we share policies and experiences to combat common threats. As a representative of Japanese associations and organizations, I commit to supporting the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, as well as with other countries worldwide. I also firmly believe that you, the students being nurtured in the field of cybersecurity, will become courageous ‘warriors,’ contributing to the protection of cybersecurity for both the country and the world in the future."
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director of the IT Industry Department, Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, stated: "Cybersecurity is becoming a widespread issue for society as the risk of personal information breaches in international payments continues to rise. Attacks not only cause financial damage but also erode user trust, with a widespread impact on global financial stability. In this context, CyberCon Asia 2025 has cleverly highlighted a new battlefield: The war between AI - Defender, AI - Shield, and AI - Attacker. Vietnam has been and continues to make efforts to build a secure ecosystem, but this is not easy, as we face many threats from large-scale cyberattacks. To tackle these challenges, we must further invest in advanced security technologies, including AI, enhance the expertise of our workforce, and establish strict procedures to prevent and handle incidents. I believe that with the collaboration of scientists, experts, and the creativity of students, we will create a safer future, where AI is not only an adversary but also an ally in the fight to protect cybersecurity worldwide.”

With the theme “AI vs AI: The New Cybersecurity Battlefield,” CyberCon Asia 2025 highlights the growing urgency of the situation, where cyber attackers are increasingly using AI to bypass existing defense mechanisms.
Throughout the event, speakers from Vietnam and Japan share knowledge, discuss critical issues, and propose innovative solutions to contribute to building a safer cyberspace:
- Mr. Ngo Minh Hieu (Hieu PC), widely known as Hieu PC, is a Vietnamese cybersecurity expert and currently the CEO of Anti-Fraud Company. He shared in-depth perspectives on the highly relevant topic, "When AI Becomes the Enemy: Emerging Threats in the Digital Age."
- Mr. Colin Blackwell, CEO of EnableCode, presented compelling arguments in his paper "Securing the Age of Intelligence: Why Cybersecurity Must Evolve as AI Begins to Think."
- Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Vietnam Innovation Network and cybersecurity specialist at ViSecurity addressed “Ensuring Information Security and Cybersecurity for Local Governments at Two Levels in Vietnam’s Digital Transformation: Current Situation and Solutions.”
- …
The discussion sessions delved into specific topics such as: “Unlocking Trillion-Dollar Opportunities from AI: How AI-First Leaders Outpace Their Competitors,” “Awakening the 'Inherent Operating System': Addressing the Leadership Gap in Cybersecurity;” “AI & Human Intelligence: Rethinking Collaboration”; “Talent Management in AI & Cybersecurity in Vietnam,” “Reverse Marketing Strategies in the Age of AI”; “AI in Research - How It’s Changing ‘Everything’,” creating a vibrant forum with many roundtable discussions.

Many in-depth discussion sessions took place at DTU
Distinguished Teacher, Hero of Labor Le Cong Co, DTU Chairman, emphasized: "Today, the information network has become a powerful tool connecting the world, but its downside is the widespread exploitation and fraud occurring on a massive scale. In particular, the remarkable development of AI has created a 'new front' in the cybersecurity battle, making this issue more urgent than ever. We are facing a great challenge: how to use AI positively to fight against the very threats posed by negative AI? This conference is the answer - a place for us to clarify the existing issues, collaborate, and find solutions.
I believe that only when individuals work together with individuals, and nations work together with nations, can we ensure information safety and cybersecurity. DTU is honored to host this meaningful event. This is not only an opportunity for all of us to access the latest knowledge from leading experts, but also an occasion for us, those working in education, to continue to pass on and equip students with the necessary skills. Training a generation that grasp cybersecurity is the best way to protect the country's digital future."
Several MOUs were signed between organizations, businesses, and educational institutions, specifically:
- The Japan Association signed a collaboration agreement with the Vietnam Cybersecurity Innovation and Expert Network (ViSecurity).
- Fore Corporation of Japan signed a partnership with Cybersecurity CSC Corporation.
- Digital Hollywood University (Japan) and DTU signed a collaboration agreement in education and research.
As part of the conference, the Hackathon CTF 2025 competition took place, attracting teams from universities nationwide. The competition was not only an intellectually challenging platform for students majoring in Information Security but also an opportunity for contestants to interact, exchange knowledge and skills, and discover and nurture young talents in this field.
