I aim to combine academic learning with practical experience in order to accumulate valuable knowledge for my future career. At Chungbuk National University, I plan to take advanced courses such as AI Programming, Machine Learning, Data Structures, and Database Systems. Cao Thi Nhu Y

When Nhu Y choose to study Korean Language at DTU, she understood that learning a foreign language is more than mastering grammar or vocabulary; it is also a journey of discovering culture and people, and then of broadening one’s worldview. She set clear goals: to become fluent in Korean, achieve a high TOPIK score, and, more importantly, to turn her language skills into a key that opens doors to international study and career opportunities. With this mindset, Nhu Y successfully earned a scholarship of the Korean government, which will allow her to continue researching Korean language and culture while experiencing life in a country she has always loved.

Nhu Y feels lucky with the constant support and guidance of her lecturers throughout her studies and the scholarship application process. “All the time I was preparing my application, my lecturers provided dedicated support - from guiding me through research materials, amending documents, and practicing interviews to sharing invaluable experience about studying and living in Korea,” are her words of heartfelt appreciation for her mentors. “The DTU lecturers’ patience, enthusiasm, dedication, and encouragement to keep learning have been a tremendous motivation for me to continue doing my best day after day.”

For Nhu Y, the GKS scholarship is more than full financial support for tuition and living expenses in Korea; it is also a gateway to experiencing the fascinating education system and lifestyle there. She plans to focus on improving her Korean proficiency to achieve at least TOPIK level 4, and to join clubs, engage in international exchange, and immerse herself in Korean culture, cuisine, and people.

With her graceful appearance and fresh smile, Nhu Y surprises many when she reveals her passion for boxing. “Training with boxing gloves and a punching bag is more than a great way to stay healthy; it also helps me release stress,” Nhu Y explains. “I feel that boxing is more than just a combat sport; it’s a teacher that’s taught me a lot. Every punch, every dodge in the ring is a lesson about staying calm under pressure, about persistence, focus, and never giving up.”

Looking ahead, Nhu Y aspires to become a professional Korean translator and interpreter, while working for educational and cultural exchange projects between Vietnam and South Korea. She believes that foreign languages are bridges, and that Korean interpreters and translators are helping break down language barriers to bring the people of both nations closer together.
