DTU students have achieved a significant milestone in their journey toward international recognition by officially becoming World Champions at the ERPsim International Competition 2025 on June 5, 2025. This is the first time a team from Vietnam has secured the highest ranking at this prestigious global competition.
This year’s ERPsim International Competition finals featured 15 strongest teams from the United States, Finland, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Chile, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Vietnam had two teams participating:
- Dongry Corporation team from DTU, winners of the SAP ERPsim Student Competition 2025, APJ Cup for the Asia-Pacific region, and
- Team from Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
This is a prestigious international platform for business management talents from top universities worldwide, jointly organized by SAP University Alliances (a division of SAP, the world's leading company in enterprise management and manufacturing solutions) and HEC Montréal.
The DTU Dongry Corporation team is World Champions at the ERPsim International Competition 2025
The competition was held online, with teams participating in a sustainable manufacturing business simulation on the SAP S/4HANA platform. The evaluation criteria included:
- Financial Efficiency,
- Production-Distribution Strategy, and
- Carbon Emissions Management
The teams went through 4 rounds to manage a company producing and distributing breakfast cereals (Muesli) with 12 different product lines. Starting from scratch with:
- no inventory, and
- no supply chain,
the teams had to build the entire business operation process - from strategic planning, procurement, production, product formula development, to accounting, finance, logistics, distribution, and sales. Throughout the competition, the teams faced random disruptions and had to solve the challenge of "carbon emissions."
The results of the ERPsim International Competition 2025
The DTU Dongry Corporation team was recognized by the judges for their exceptional performance, not only overcoming financial and operational challenges but also demonstrating innovative capabilities in developing a sustainable growth strategy that balanced economic benefits with environmental responsibility.
The organizing committee awarded prizes to the top teams, as follows:
1. First prize - World Champion: Duy Tan University, Vietnam
2. Second prize: Beijing Institute of Technology, China
3. Third prize: Central University of Finance and Economics, China
4. Fourth place: Oulu Business School, Finland
5. Fifth place: JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland
6. Sixth place: University of Sherbrooke, Canada
7. Seventh place: Nanjing Audit University, China
8. Eighth place: Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA
9. Ninth place: University of the Cordilleras, Philippines
10. Tenth place: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam
COO Nguyen Duy Vu, the team coordinator, said: “ERPsim is not just a competition; it’s a real-world playground for students passionate about economics and technology. We had the opportunity to experience the roles of department directors in a Muesli cereal manufacturing company, where every decision impacts the survival of the business. From the competition, we learned how to think strategically across all areas, Financial Management, Marketing, Production, Profit Optimization, and Carbon Emissions Control. Winning this year’s competition not only showcases the skills and resilience of DTU students but also proves that Vietnamese students can fully conquer international platforms. I am proud to represent Vietnam and DTU in such a prestigious competition and will continue to pursue higher goals in our future journey of knowledge.”
Accompanying the DTU team in the ERPsim International Competition 2025, MSc. Nguyen Minh Nhat - Vice Dean of the DTU SouthStar Management Institute (SMi) and Director of the DTU Business Intelligence Center (BIC), stated: “The ERPsim 2025 competition truly affirms its prestige by gathering teams from top universities worldwide, representing advanced education systems such as the United States, Canada, Finland, China, and many other countries. DTU ’s team had an impressive journey, from National Champion to Asia-Pacific Champion, and then successfully overcoming 14 strong competitors to win the World Championship (surpassing the 2024 World Champion team from China).
This victory strongly demonstrates that with the right educational strategy and a spirit of learning and innovation, Vietnamese students, especially those from DTU, are fully capable of conquering the highest peaks of knowledge and technology, leaving their mark on the world’s greatest intellectual arenas.”
The DTU Business Intelligence Center (BIC)
The DTU Business Intelligence Center (BIC) was founded in 2019 with the aim of integrating advanced enterprise management systems into teaching and research. The center regularly organizes in-depth workshops and seminars, while also fostering collaboration with local and international businesses to stay updated on the latest technical trends for practical application in business management. BIC is the organizer of DTU’s annual ERPsim competition, a platform for intellectual and creative engagement, attracting students from various fields of study. This provides a rare opportunity for students to acquire solid knowledge, develop strategic thinking, and enhance teamwork skills, preparing them for career development in the Digital Age.
