Second Student Science Conference for Economics, Social Sciences, Humanities at DTU

On the morning of May 15, 2025, the second Student Science Conference for Economics, Social Sciences, & Humanities at DTU took place in an enthusiastic atmosphere. It drew a large number of lecturers and students from the SouthStar Management Institute, the International School, the School of Business & Economics, the School of Foreign Languages & Social Humanities, and the Hospitality & Tourism Institute.

DTU School of Business & Economics Provost Assoc.Prof. Dr Phan Thanh Hai opened the conference

 

“According to the academic council’s preliminary evaluation, the Student Science Conference for Economics, Social Sciences, & Humanities at DTU has left a remarkable impression concerning both its organizational scale and academic quality,” Assoc.Prof. Dr Phan Thanh Hai, Provost of the DTU School of Business & Economics (SBE), stated in his opening remarks. “The research topics this year not only reflect the students’ seriousness and eagerness to learn throughout their research, but also show clear progress in scientific thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to apply knowledge to practice.”


More than an opportunity for students to present and share their research findings, the conference was also a chance to receive feedback, evaluations, and valuable advice on how to improve content and research methodology from experienced lecturers.

Experienced lecturers shared valuable advice on how to improve content and research methodology


A highlight of this year’s projects was that students were not hesitant to tackle current and trending subjects, such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation in business management, and the impact of social media on consumer behavior. They also actively adopted modern research methodologies and applied technological tools and data processing software, leading to highly effective research.

The organizers selected the best projects for awards

 

The results of the second Student Science Conference for Economics, Social Sciences, & Humanities at DTU are:


?    first prize went to “Impact of social media on green consumption intentions among youth in Danang: Moderating role of environmental awareness”,
?    second prize went to “Rebound effects of AI on learning behavior and preventive solutions: Case study of students in Danang”,
?    two third prizes went to “Study of factors influencing impulse buying via TikTok live stream among Gen Z in Danang” and “Linguistic features in English and Vietnamese rap lyrics”,
?    two consolation prizes went to “Factors influencing non-cash spending behavior among university students in Danang” and “Measuring domestic tourist satisfaction at Ba Na Hills, Danang”.

 

Besides offering a platform where DTU students of economics, social sciences, and humanities majors could present their research findings, the conference was also an opportunity for learning and academic growth. With their seriousness and eagerness to improve, these students are sure to go even further on their research journeys and will carve out their own paths in the future.
