On April 26, 2025, the DTU International School held its 3rd Student Scientific Research Conference, a significant event in the development of its students’ research capabilities. The conference provided a platform for students to present their outstanding research projects and served as an opportunity to summarize and evaluate notable achievements in student research during 2024-2025.
Dr Nguyen Duc Man, Vice Dean of the International School and Deputy Chairman
of the organizing committee, delivered the opening speech
“The Student Scientific Research Conference of the International School is organized to encourage and develop scientific research abilities among students,” International School Vice Dean and organizing committee Deputy Chairman Dr Nguyen Duc Man emphasized in his opening remarks. “It also provides students with a chance to showcase their outstanding research projects, allowing for the evaluation and recognition of key achievements in this field. The School will select the most outstanding projects of the conference and nominate them for higher-level 2025 student scientific research awards. The conference moreover lets the students unleash their creativity, independence, and autonomy in their studies and research.”
The conference this year was divided into three specialized subsessions:
- Subsession 1 - IT: The ten projects from the majors in CMU-standard Software Engineering, CMU-standard Management Information Systems, and CMU-standard Network Security showcased the students’ creativity and sharp logical thinking in developing innovative technological solutions. The project “Programming Teaching Support System” outstandingly won first prize, highlighting the students’ creativity and practical application of technology in education.
The International School students presented their research projects with confidence
- Subsession 2 - Economics, with fourteen projects from the majors in Business Administration, Accounting, and PSU-standard Finance & Banking. The projects focused on real-world issues, and of note is “Study on Factors Influencing Impulse Buying Behavior via TikTok Live Streams among Generation Z”, which was very creative in following modern consumer trends, and which was awarded first prize.
- Subsession 3 - Engineering: Although this subsession counted only two projects, both construction & architecture projects demonstrated acumen in applying knowledge and engineering to real-world problems. The jury highly praised the project “Reconstructing Student Community Spaces Using Modular Structures for Sustainable Development” and awarded it second prize.
