Modern equipment supporting medical training at DTU

Students enrolled in General Practitioner or Odonto-Stomatology at DTU study with modern equipment optimized for training in the dedicated Building F, 120 Hoang Minh Thao, Danang:

?    General Practitioner students train in 19 practice rooms, 7 control rooms and 2 debriefing rooms from an investment of over $3 million, located in Building F, where a real-time environment of patient treatment is simulated. Students work with patient mannequins like the “Sim family”: SimMan 3G, SimMan Essential, and SimBaby; and over 300 other anatomical models and practice simulations.
?    Odonto-Stomatology students use imported dental chairs fully equipped with electricity, water, gas, and handpiece sets, along with X-ray laboratory, a lab for mold making and dyeing wax, and twenty dental practice simulators.

DTU students have their practice assessed by doctors at major hospitals throughout their hands-on clinical training, in the spirit of training doctors with both compassion and skill, at hospitals such as:

?    Hue Central Hospital,
?    Danang Hospital,
?    Danang Hospital for Women & Children,
?    Military Hospital 17,
?    Danang Oncology Hospital,
?    Danang Dermatology Hospital,
?    Danang Lung Hospital,
?    Danang Psychiatric Hospital.

Health sciences at DTU ranked highly in THE and QS rankings for 2025

The outcomes of DTU’s medical training programs have contributed to the high rankings of the university’s health sciences in prestigious international rankings, such as:

?    401–500 range of the world in the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2025,
?    451–500 range of the world in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

This provides strong assurance for applicants choosing to pursue studies in medicine or pharmacy at DTU in the 2025 admissions season.

Research products integrated into training and commercialized

The 3D Human Anatomy Simulation developed since 2016 by the DTU Center for Visualization & Simulation (CVS) is in optimal use in health sciences training at the university. The 3D application simulates the organs and systems of the entire human body, with over four thousand complex anatomical details of the complete skeletal, muscular, circulatory, nervous, and cardiovascular systems. It is portable across various hardware platforms and operating systems, and allows for interaction in both virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). The application won first prize at the Vietnam Talent Awards in 2017, has reduced the need for cadaveric practice, and has enabled students of medicine to study and do research on their own. The product is currently in use at the Hue University of Medicine & Pharmacy and at DTU’s College of Medicine & Pharmacy (CMP).

Another product is the DTU SimSkin Wound Suturing Model, created by DTU students of Odonto-Stomatology. The model has contributed to optimizing training, as there are few similar high-quality products of local make and competitive price in Vietnam. The model has many strengths: realistic anatomical morphology and structure, elasticity, tensile strength, and very high durability.
