In order to combine education with the realities of society and to celebrate the 100th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (on June 21, 2025), the DTU Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences held the talk show “Stories of Photojournalism” on the morning of March 11, 2025, at the 120 Hoang Minh Thao campus, with a large turnout of students.

The talk show aimed to realize the educational idea of linking theory with practice and to change the learning atmosphere to create a lively educational environment, make learning more exciting, provide students of Public Relations, Journalism, and Multimedia Communications with more specialized knowledge, and enhance their professional thinking.
With the guidance of two experienced speakers, Nguyen Thuan and Nguyen Duy Hieu, both journalists from the online magazine Tri Thuc Znews (Zingnews), the event brought valuable perspectives on photojournalism.

The speakers shared insights on the characteristics, rules, and ethical standards of the profession and guided students on how to tell a story through images, typify one’s subjects, and capture genuine emotions. Their analysis of the current state and challenges of journalism & media in Vietnam furthermore gave students a clearer view of their future career paths.

“The talk show left me with many deep impressions - especially the two speakers, each with his unique style and practical stories from his profession,” Phan Thi Thanh Binh, a third-year student of Multimedia Communications, said. “The experiences they shared not only broadened my knowledge but also gave me a clearer understanding of the field I’m pursuing. I also realized the importance of continuous learning, honing skills, and having a clear direction for the future. I hope the university will organize more in-depth talk shows on writing skills and video production, and provide opportunities for students to experience work in journalism & media.”
