The competition was part of the “Korea Game Week 2024” held by the Korean embassy and the Korean Cultural Center, in collaboration with the Korean Game Culture Foundation, the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Korea Tourism Organization, Jeju Air, and the Vietnam National University in Hanoi. It was aimed at students passionate about game design and programming.

This Game Design competition is part of a diverse range of activities combining games and Korean culture, including cuisine, Hanbok dress, tourism, and so on. Other activities, such as e-Sports exchanges between Vietnamese and Korean students, lectures on the gaming industry, and a game experience zone, attracted a large number of students.

Ngo Thi Phuong Thao said: “I focused all my effort on completing the game design of ‘The Flavors’ Odyssey’ for two weeks, using wild imagination to clearly express the storyline and design the characters,” “In Flavornia, dishes are not just food but animated creatures, each with their powers and flavors.

“Players take on the role of the character Kimchi - a quintessential Korean dish - and undertake a challenging journey through the World of Cuisine, discover secrets, fight enemies, and rescue ancient ingredients to restore the balance in Flavornia. ‘The Flavors’ Odyssey’ is not just a game, but also a journey to honor culture and preserve traditional dishes from the threats of degradation and distortion by time.”
