To excel in the finals, teams must have a solid grasp of business processes and management, ERP systems, the SAP platform, and hands-on proficiency in operating the SAP ERP system.
Processing an Enormous Volume of Information
The DTU DongRy Corporation team, consisting of five members - Trinh Thanh Ly, Tran Ðinh Tan Phat, Dinh Van Tan Phuc, Hoang Van Bao Quoc, and Nguyen Duy Vu - triumphed in the ERPsim category with the highest final company value.
Trinh Thanh Ly shared: “The biggest challenge that our teams faced in the competition was processing an enormous volume of information and adapting to the constantly changing market. All teams had to work hard to efficiently purchase, produce, and sell goods while achieving a competitive level of value. The participating teams showed a fierce, competitive spirit. Despite this, our team stayed united, worked closely and harmoniously throughout the competition, and secured the highest award.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the lecturers at the DTU Business Intelligence Center for always dedicatedly supporting the whole team throughout the competition and our studies at the university. The knowledge we gained from studying Logistics and Supply Chain Management at DTU was useful for us in the competition. In addition, learning specialized subjects entirely in English with foreign lecturers greatly enhanced our ability to use the modules in the ERP system in English, as well as our effectiveness in using English during the competition.”
This victory is not only a source of pride for DTU but also a significant milestone, marking the first time a team from Central Vietnam has claimed the top spot in this prestigious competition. It reaffirms DTU's position in providing high-quality education and training for human resources.
MSc. Nguyen Minh Nhat, Deputy Dean of the DTU SouthStar Management Institute and Director of the DTU Business Intelligence Center, said: "The SAP ERPsim Student Competition 2024 - Vietnam was a comprehensive challenge that required participants to apply not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills in running a business within an ERP simulation environment. Through many rounds, the DTU team demonstrated exceptional performance by devising smart strategies for operating their company, covering the entire cycle from production and supply to the consumption of goods.
Their in-depth analyses of financial data, supply chain management, demand forecasting, and optimization of factors to maintain competitiveness and achieve high enterprise value showcased the team's outstanding capabilities. The students also demonstrated excellent proficiency in using the SAP ERP software during the competition."
