DTU Student Wins Silver Medal at National Music and Dance Festival 2024

This year, first-year Dentistry student Trinh Nguyen Hong Minh, who was the champion of The Voice Kids 2015 and Sing Out Loud 2023, continued to make her mark by winning a Silver Medal at the National Music and Dance Festival 2024 with her performance "Apsara Dancer by the Han River."

 

The closing ceremony of the National Music and Dance Festival 2024 took place on the evening of October 15, 2024, at the Binh Duong Province Conference and Exhibition Center. This cultural event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in collaboration with the Performing Arts Department, the Vietnam Musicians Association, the Vietnam Dancers Association, the Binh Duong Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with relevant agencies. This prestigious professional art platform attracted the participation of 1,500 artists from 24 units across the country. It showcased the finest talents in Vietnamese music and performing arts, allowing artists to express their creativity in a rich and diverse cultural field.

The Trung Vuong Theater from Da Nang made a strong impression at the festival with its artistic program "The River Tells a Story." The program included 14 performances divided into two parts: "Stories of the Past" and

"Stories of Today."

 

"The River Tells a Story" showcased the professionalism and creativity of talented artists, introducing a youthful and dynamic Da Nang, filled with poetic beauty alongside the warm-heartedness of its people.

 

The Trung Vuong Theater won 2 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals at the festival. Among these, Hong Minh earned a Silver Medal for her performance "Apsara Dancer by the Han River." In a mesmerizing performance accompanied by gentle music from the Champa region,

Hong Minh transformed into an Apsara dancer, embodying mystical

beauty and captivating movements, reminiscent of celestial beings wandering by the Han River

 

The solo performance "Apsara Dancer by the Han River" not only depicted the beauty of Champa culture but also revived the image of shy Champa girls in traditional dances. Through the delicate blending of music and choreography, Trinh Nguyen Hong Minh, along with the program "The River Tells a Story," guided the audience through the memories of Da Nang, a place where culture, people, and history intertwine, recounting the city's powerful transformation over the years.


Upon returning from the festival, Hong Minh shared, "This award holds special significance for me; it's an important turning point marking my path in professional art, recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. I am also proud to have contributed to the success of the artistic program 'The River Tells a Story' at the festival. As a child of Da Nang, I always hope to spread the beauty of our people, culture, and history, and I wish for these values to be preserved and promoted in the future."

"Rapunzel" Trinh Nguyen Hong Minh

 

Trinh Nguyen Hong Minh, known as the "Princess of Hair," is not only a professional singer but also a first-year student at DTU. She expressed, "Although I have only spent a short time studying at DTU, I feel it is the right choice for my educational journey. Duy Tan is not just where I can realize my dream of working in dentistry alongside my artistic path, but also a place where I have had memorable experiences, such as during the recent opening ceremony."

 

Known for her titles as "Princess of Hair" after winning The Voice Kids 2015 and later Sing Out Loud 2023, Hong Minh continues to showcase her exceptional talent across various musical stages. Not only excelling in the arts, Hong Minh also has an outstanding academic record, being an excellent student for 12 consecutive years and winning numerous awards in competitions at both the city and national levels, including:

 

•    First Prize in the city-level Science and Engineering competition in 2021 for the project "Warning, Coordinating, and Supporting Disaster Relief for Citizens."
•    First Prize in the city-level Science and Engineering competition in 2023 for the project "Solutions for Developing Automated Parking Networks for Modern Urban Areas Based on IoT."

 

In addition, Trinh Nguyen Hong Minh has received several awards, including:

 

•    Two First Prizes in the city-level Youth Informatics competition (2015, 2019).
•    One First Prize in the National Robothon (2017).
•    Four years recognized as "Outstanding Student of the City" (2015, 2017, 2019, 2024).
•    Two Huynh Thuc Khang Awards (2020, 2024).
•    National Kim Ð?ng Award 2020 from the Central Youth Union.
•    The "Red Scarf Award" from the city.
•    Ministerial commendation for "Outstanding Student in the Youth Union Movement."
•    Recognized as "Outstanding Young Person of the City" (2017).
•    Acknowledgment from the city for "Exemplary Citizen" (2020).
•    Title of "Outstanding Youth of the City" and Delegate of the National Union Congress 2024.

 

Alongside her academic focus and passion for music, Hong Minh dedicates time to community service. She has participated in numerous charitable activities both domestically and internationally and has received many commendations at the central and city levels. She allocates her prize money from music competitions to assist those in need. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hong Minh contributed her voice to various community music videos to spread meaningful messages and uplift spirits.
