Duy Tan University will reorganize its structure and operations based on the foundation of Duy Tan University in accordance with the Higher Education Law and other relevant legal regulations. The reorganization process must ensure the legitimate rights and interests of all stakeholders, maintain regular operations, and prevent any negativity, financial losses, or waste of resources.

The University Council, the Chairman of the University Council, and the President of Duy Tan University will continue to perform their functions, duties, and powers according to current regulations until Duy Tan Corporation Joint Stock Company formally recognizes the University Council, recognize the Chairman of the University Council, and recognize the Director of Duy Tan University according to the provisions of law.

Duy Tan University was founded on November 11, 1994, by Decision No. 666/TTg of the Prime Minister. In 2015, the institution transitioned to a private university through Decision No. 1704/QÐ-TTg, dated October 2, 2015, by the Prime Minister, and was renamed Duy Tan University. The university falls under the direct professional management of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and administrative management of the People's Committee of Da Nang City.

The differences between university and university system

According to the 2018 revised Law on Higher Education, universities and academies (referred to as universities) are higher education institutions that train and research in many fields, and are organized according to the provisions of the Law on Higher Education.

A university is a higher education institution that trains and conducts research in many fields, and is structured according to the provisions of the Law on Higher Education. The constituent units of a university agree to carry out common goals, missions, and tasks.

According to Decree 99/2019/ND-CP (Clause 1, Article 4), the conditions for converting a college into a university are stipulated as follows:

The university has been recognized as meeting the quality standards of higher education institutions by a legitimate educational quality assessment organization.

There are at least 3 schools belonging to the university established according to the provisions of the Law on Higher Education; there are at least 10 training majors up to the doctoral level; there is a regular training scale of over 15.000 people.

There is approval from the direct management agency for public universities; there is consensus from investors representing at least 75% of the total contributed capital for private universities and non-profit private universities.
