DTU Student Wins Runner-Up in Quang Nam Master of Ceremonies Contest

Le Nhu Doan Ha, a DTU student, earned the title of runner-up at the 2024 Quang Nam Master of Ceremonies Contest.

After three rounds of competition, Ha faced off against nine strong contenders in the final round. Here, the student from the DTU Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, (School of Language and Social Sciences), impressed the judges with her coherent and emotional storytelling.

Ha shared that she has loved makeup and "pretending" to be a host, actress, or singer since she was little. Therefore, alongside her studies, she seizes opportunities to take the microphone and engage with the audience, striving to meet the demands of various programs.

"As someone who is quite meticulous, I want everything I do to be polished and effective. That’s why I took a hosting course to improve my enunciation and boost my confidence," she added.

Ha believes that every profession has its challenges, and being a host is not just about the glamorous spotlight. The job involves thorough preparation regarding program knowledge, pressure from clients, and unexpected situations. As a result, Ha always pays attention to the smallest details to minimize mistakes, ensuring a professional approach.

With her passion for hosting and a dynamic personality, the DTU student has chosen to study and work in the communications field, specifically public relations, to enhance her skills.

According to Ha, public relations is an attractive field for many young people. To excel, students need expertise in communications, foreign languages, and various soft skills, such as public speaking and community engagement.

"Studying public relations in a dynamic and creative environment like DTU has made me more confident in participating in major events and preparing for my future career," she said.

Over two years at DTU, Ha has been mentored by her teachers, helping her build resilience. Beyond classroom learning, she has acted as a professional host at several university events, including a seminar on "Starting a Business from Social Media - Tips for Gen Z" with blogger Nguyen Ngoc Long, and a cultural exchange program with the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language at Vietnam National University.

This ambitious student not only excels in her studies but also actively contributes to student organizations. She was recognized as an Outstanding Youth Union Officer at DTU for the 2021-2022 academic year and ranked in the top 12 of the 2023 DTU Talent MC Search competition.

Ha also noted that her top 12 finish in the talent search allowed her to recognize her weaknesses and work harder. She was inspired by the words of Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien: "Failing once does not mean you are a failure. You are a failure only if you choose to give up."

With the motto "I can do it," Ha continually strives for further success on her journey of knowledge and self-expression.
