Once home, I continue studying and I write down anything I didn’t fully understand, and then, if I can’t find the answer myself, I’ll seek further clarification from the teachers. When studying social sciences, I always relax my mind as much as I can to better retain information, and especially historical events.”

Despite often being busy with schoolwork and especially so in the final years of senior high, Diem Quynh enthusiastically took part in school and class activities. She was also an energetic Youth Union Secretary and she left a strong impression in extracurricular activities, cultural performances, and collective movements. “My older sister Nguyen Phuong Thao is currently in her fourth year of DTU’s American Degree Program or ADP in Business Administration,” Diem Quynh explains. “She also got a full scholarship from the university when she first started. She’s like a close friend who supports me a lot in my studies and she also helped me choose the right university to pursue my dreams. Having her at the same university gives me a lot of confidence, as I know I’ll have someone to guide me and ease my homesickness the first days away from home.”
