More High Scorers Enroll at DTU in 2024

Many students with exceptional scores of over 26 and even 27 points receive scholarships from DTU for their upcoming journey in pursuit of knowledge.

After they listened to experiences shared by higher-year students and thoroughly researched the university’s curriculum, lecturers, and facilities, many graduates of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam (HSGE) have decided to make DTU their destination for higher education. Among them, there are many who scored over 26 and even 27 points, whom DTU awards scholarships for their upcoming journey in pursuit of knowledge.

Nguyen Ha Vy: Surpassing herself to shine

With an impressive 27.30/30 points in the 2024 HSGE, Nguyen Ha Vy from Co Dam, Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh province, has chosen to enroll for the DTU Talent Program in International Relations. This is her first step in her journey to achieve her dreams, a journey further enriched by a valuable scholarship from DTU.

Nguyen Ha Vy choose International Relations, a major for global citizens

Ha Vy is the eldest of three siblings in a family with challenging economic conditions. Her father works as a truck driver for a construction company, and her mother works as a small trader to make ends meet. Due to her family’s situation, Ha Vy has lived with her grandmother for the full 18 years of her life. These hardships did not, however, stop this young girl from striving for excellence in both her studies and everyday life. Throughout her three years at Phan Boi Chau high school, Ha Vy continuously strove to maintain the title of Excellent Student. Besides being diligent in her studies, Ha Vy was also very active in school activities. She held several important positions: school Youth Union Executive Committee member, class Youth Union secretary, academic class vice president, and class president. Ha Vy’s relentless efforts have earned her the appreciation and respect of her teachers and classmates.

“I’m very active and outgoing,” Ha Vy says about her choice of major and university. “That’s why, after researching many disciplines, I chose International Relations: because I feel like it fits my personality very well. And in today’s context of global integration and internationalization, International Relations is furthermore considered a major for future global citizens, offering many promising opportunities for young people like me.

“My decision wasn’t easy, though, as I had to deal with my family’s disagreement. They worried about the future and employment after graduation. To convince the people around me, and especially my family, I showed them the outstanding advantages of the major and how well it suits my personality, interests, and passions. I also understand that, while finding a job later might not be smooth sailing, the knowledge, skills, and relationships I’ll gain during my studies will be invaluable and they’ll serve as a solid foundation on which to build a bright future. When it comes to my choice for DTU, I feel even more confident, knowing that many alumni highly praise the university and have built successful, ideal careers that many people dream of after graduation.”

Tran Anh Dai: Burning with startup dreams

Born and raised in Dak Lak, Tran Anh Dai is a diligent, hardworking boy and an outstanding student. Throughout his three years at Cu M’gar high school, he consistently maintained the title of Excellent Student, a testament to his relentless efforts and serious approach to learning. In the 2024 HSGE, he set down an impressive score of 26.49/30. Though somewhat introverted, he is humorous and curious by nature, which he uses to make his studies more engaging.

One of Anh Dai’s favorite books is Kane and Abel by British author Jeffrey Archer. The story of two people with different starting points but who both achieve success through relentless effort has left Anh Dai with valuable lessons about perseverance and overcoming challenges. He now realizes that, no matter how difficult things get, as long as you do not give up, doors of opportunity will eventually open.

Anh Dai places his full trust in DTU, where his sister studied Economic Law and built a solid career

Even though no one in his family works in business, Anh Dai has always been fascinated by the world of commerce. He spends a lot of time researching and reading about sales and financial management, which has given him a clear direction for his future.

“I believe that, to start a successful business, you first need a solid knowledge foundation to know how to approach customers and deliver products effectively,” Anh Dai explains. “The knowledge I’ll gain from the Talent Program (HP) in Marketing & Strategic Management at DTU’s SouthStar Management Institute or SMi will be the foundation that’ll help me realize my plans and aspirations. When searching for a reputable university that offers Marketing & Strategic Management, DTU was my first and only choice, not only because of its reputation but also because of the example set by my sister, who graduated from the university in Economic Law and now has a solid career. Given her success, I place my full trust in DTU, where, I believe, I’ll develop comprehensively on my journey towards my business dreams.”

Besides his passion and dreams of doing business, Anh Dai also loves music. When relaxing, he often listens to songs by MCK, one of his favorite talented artists. Anh Dai enjoys rapping, and even tried his hand composing a few songs in the pop and ballad genres. Although he did not yet write many songs, his work has received some praise from friends, which has boosted his confidence in his creative abilities and is a small source of pride for him.

Nguyen Thi Thoan: 26.57/30 points, seals the deal with DTU for next four years

From “rice hometown” Thai Binh, Nguyen Thi Thoan knows she has quite a distance to travel to go to university in the coastal city of Danang, where she has sealed the deal with DTU for the next four years.

“After the HSGE, I was often quite stressed because my family’s difficult financial situation might force me to put my studies on hold,” Nguyen Thi Thoan enthusiastically says on the serendipitous journey that led her to DTU. “At the time, I came across a TikTok video where DTU students mentioned the scholarships of the university. Then, with more information from news websites and recommendations from close friends about DTU, with its quality education and benefits for students, and especially its rank in top 500 best universities of the world, along with many other important details, I quickly decided on DTU to continue my studies the next four years.”

Nguyen Thi Thoan chooses DTU because of her dream to work and create in IT

Thoan was very impressed with the On-site Study Abroad programs for a Troy University (US) degree - DTU’s American Degree Programs (ADP) - and she signed up for the Troy University program in Computer Science at DTU. The reward for Thoan’s relentless efforts is a full scholarship (fully covering tuition). The little girl has a big dream that, after graduation, she would be able to join the IT community, be free to work and create, and conquer new technologies that benefit people’s lives.

In the spirit of “diligence makes up for intelligence”, Thoan takes her studies very seriously. However, she also mentions some interesting aspects of her life, particularly how she relaxes when stressed: “In my free time, I help my parents with household chores and make time to enjoy good movies. After solving difficult math problems or challenging exam papers, I turn to music to relax. I also love reading, especially free writing, and often try my hand at short stories or just record memorable emotions or moments of the day. Balancing study time with relaxation ensures a rested mind and a comfortable spirit, which will certainly lead to the success I’ve always dreamed of.”
