Blue Ladder Project 2024 at DTU

The opening ceremony of the Blue Ladder Project 2024 was held at 3 Quang Trung, Danang, on the morning of July 1, 2024. The vibrant and meaningful program promises numerous activities for cultural exchange, learning, and experiences for Korean students in various countries around the world.

Attendees included Ms Yeon Ram-hyun, Blue Ladder Project Manager at Sun Moon University (Korea); DTU Vice Provost Dr Nguyen Huu Phu; 24 students from Sun Moon University; and a large number of DTU staff, lecturers, and students.
 
Following the success of the first Blue Ladder Project held at DTU in June 2023, many unique activities for connecting and experiencing were scheduled for the Blue Ladder Project 2024, to introduce young Koreans to the distinctive cultural features, landscapes, and people of Central Vietnam.

“We’re grateful for the warm welcome from the lecturers and students of DTU, which made us feel at home from the very first meeting,” Ms Yeon Ram-hyun, Blue Ladder Project Manager at Sun Moon University, said in her opening remarks. “We find that Vietnam is a country with beautiful nature and a rich culture. We’re also very pleased and proud that Sun Moon University students have the opportunity to learn the language and engage with the culture and the nice people at DTU.
 
“The Blue Ladder Project is a valuable opportunity for Sun Moon University students to improve their foreign language skills, gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese history and traditions, and learn from different academic experiences. My Sun Moon University students and I deeply appreciate this and look forward to participating in the many Blue Ladder Project activities at DTU.”

From June 30 to July 27, 2024, Sun Moon University students participating in the Blue Ladder Project to explore the characteristics of Vietnamese life, culture, and people through visits to famous destinations in Danang and Quang Nam. Supported and guided by DTU volunteers , trips to places like Ba Na, Hoi An Ancient Town, Cham Island, and the Marble Mountains, will undoubtedly give the Korean students opportunities to discover the unique customs, habits, lifestyle, and language of the people of Central Vietnam.
 
Various additional interesting activities at DTU - classes of Vietnamese and English language, traditional Vietnamese and Korean games, visits to the Silver Swallows Studio - will allow the Sun Moon University students in the Blue Ladder Project to develop new language skills, expand their understanding, and forge friendships with their peers at DTU.
 
“This is the second year that DTU has been chosen as the destination for the Blue Ladder Project,” Deputy Head of the DTU International Relations Office Nguyen Duc Anh Tuan explains. “For us, this is a very meaningful project that creates opportunities for students of both universities to exchange and learn. It’s also a chance for DTU to promote the cultural beauty of Danang and Vietnam to our international peers. As we highly appreciated the program last year, we believe that this year it’ll continue to offer students memorable experiences.
 
“Throughout the nearly one-month program, students will interact and gain knowledge through English and Vietnamese classes and visits to major enterprises, connect through extracurricular activities and volunteer work, and join trips to famous landmarks like Ba Na, Hoi An, and Cham Island, to explore the beauty of Central Vietnam together.”
