The Opening Ceremony of the Exchange Program With SunMoon University

On January 8th, the opening ceremony of the South Korean SunMoon University (SMU) exchange program was held at DTU, with 30 SunMoon students, DTU lecturers and students. The exchange  is scheduled to run until January 25th, featuring various educational learning and cultural activities.

Mr. Suyang Cho, Head of the SMU International Cooperation Department, said: “On behalf of our SMU lecturers and students, I would like to thank DTU lecturers and students for their warm welcome. In 2023, the Blue Ladder Project was implemented, with a variety of interesting activities, so we hope that this new program will enable our students to learn together, exchange ideas and share experiences.”
 
SMU students will attend classes on Vietnamese culture and language by DTU lecturers and participate in teambuilding activities, encouraging competition and interaction with DTU students.

In addition, DTU volunteers took the SMU students to some of the most famous locations in central Vietnam, including the Hoi An Ancient Town, the Thanh Ha Pottery Village, and the Han Market, where they enjoyed the beautiful scenery and traditional local culture. 
 
Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, Vice-Dean of the School of Foreign Languages & Social Humanities, said: “This is the second time DTU has been honored to host the SMU exchange program. In 2023, during the memorable Blue Ladder Project, we experienced sweet moments in time with your Korean lecturers and students.” 
 
“All students, please remember that we are now a team, we will live, study, and experience warm days at DTU together, in Danang and in the nearby areas of Central Vietnam. I believe that you will all be left with many truly unforgettable memories, so let’s get acquainted now as our winter exchange program  begins. A warm welcome to you all and I wish you lots of joy and happiness!” 
 
Seong Uk, an SMU student, said: “Although we have only just begun, we really enjoyed the exciting welcoming activities and interesting language classes, and admire your friendliness, energy and hospitality. Some DTU students have already taken us to several beautiful places and we have tasted your delicious local food. I believe that, through this exchange program, we can acquire new knowledge and skills, make more new friends, and leave with long-lasting memories.”
 
This unique exchange program will leave participants with strong memories of Danang, and also strengthen a long-term relationship between DTU and SMU.
