Nationally and Internationally Recognized Awards for DTU Students

Recently, DTU students have achieved high results in several competitions, including the
Danang Elegant & Talented Student Contest, Robocon 2012 and the International Short Film Competition.

Winners of competitions were:

Ms. Nguyen Tran My Linh, a third year Business Administration student, who became recognized at DTU for her talent and beauty after winning the Central Vietnam Miss U-League contest and reaching the national finals at the end of 2011.

This year My Linh was recognized for her achievements at the Danang Elegant & Talented Student contest, held by Danang Youth Union in March, 2012.

As well as winning first prize, she received a special award for the best answers to questions and won the Miss Vietin prize, awarded donated by the Vietin Company.

In addition, Ms. Ngoc Huyen and Ms. Anh Minh both came in second place in the contest.

One-by-one, the DTU Titan 1 team defeated their competitors to earn one of the six final places in the Robocon 2012 finals, to be held in May in Ho Chi Minh City.

These have been glorious victories for the DTU Robocon team. Up to 2012, they had never won since the contest began in 2009. This year they deserve to become champions after all the hard work they have put in.

Winners of the national finals round will participate in the 2012 Asia Robocon contest in Hong Kong at the end of this year.

Proving DTU’s Skills in International Competitions

More good news for DTU is that the short film entitled “A Dream Comes True”, produced by Thai Bao Long and his partners won second prize in the International Short Film Competition. Prior to that, it had been awarded first prize in the short film contest centering on climate change, organized by the Vietnamese Students’ Magazine and the EU.

From the thousands of films submitted by participants all over the world, “A Dream Comes True” was voted into the top three and was the awarded second prize overall.

Together with their consolation prize in the 2011 Social Venture Plan Competition in the USA, DTU has now received two international awards so far. It is not just a source of pride for DTU but also for Vietnamese students in general. “A Dream Comes True” sends the message that Vietnamese students hope to inspire others in dealing with environmental issues worldwide.

With such national and international achievements behind them, DTU students are steadily demonstrating their talents and abilities to help improve the social integration of Vietnam.
