On the morning of September 24, 2025, DTU solemnly opened the 2025 -2026 academic year and welcomed the freshmen of class K31 - hearts full of enthusiasm taking their first steps into university life.

I’d also like to say a few words to DTU’s K31 freshmen: We’re living in an era of technology development going at breakneck speed, and especially artificial intelligence or AI and other emerging technologies are profoundly changing the way we study, work, and live. Many traditional professions are gradually disappearing, while many new technology-based services are emerging. In this context, you should view AI as a highly capable assistant in your studies and research, and actively use technology to learn anytime, anywhere.
In the future, those who master technology will have many outstanding opportunities for development. Study hard and equip yourselves with the knowledge needed to become true masters of AI and other advanced technologies. Absorb knowledge from your lecturers and combine it with creativity, innovation, and technology applications to create new values that contribute to the development of yourselves, the university, and society.”

The past academic year marked a good one in DTU’s development, with several outstanding achievements:
- The Prime Minister signed decision nr. 1115/QÐ-TTg on October 7, 2024, upgrading DTU’s administrative status.
- DTU ranked 482nd worldwide and number one in Vietnam in the QS World University Rankings 2026, published by the British education organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) on June 19, 2025. Earlier, on June 2, 2025, the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) released its 2025 global academic ranking of higher education institutions, in which DTU proudly placed in the top 4.6% worldwide, ranking 969th out of 21,462 universities; it also came 309th in Asia, and number one in Vietnam.

With DTU’s pride over these remarkable achievements, the atmosphere was even more excited as the freshmen of class K31 embarked on their learning journey at DTU - their new home. During the opening ceremony, the university awarded full scholarships to its new stars: Nguyen Ngoc Diem Quynh (Multimedia Communications) with the highest entrance score of 28.55/30, Phan Thi My Hau (Tourism & Hospitality Management in collaboration with Troy University) with the second highest entrance score of 27.43/30, and Phan Thao Vi (Multimedia Communications) with the third highest entrance score of 27.34/30.

In the 2025 undergraduate admissions season, DTU awarded more than 5.76 billion VND in scholarships to this year’s successful applicants: full and partial scholarships, “Tiep suc den truong” scholarships, etc.
Nguyen Ngoc Diem Quynh had the highest entrance score of all students to start at DTU in 2025 and chose a major in Multimedia Communications. “I chose DTU because this is where intelligence, creativity, and a global vision come together,” she said. “The school does more than train with knowledge; it also gives wings to dreams and lets them fly far. I’m proud to be a part of this community, where every student has the chance to shine in their own way. From this moment on, I believe that not only I, but all of us freshmen of class K31, will find our future paths at DTU, the starting point of many a great and wonderful thing.
My dear friends, our four years of college will be more than classes and tests. They’ll be a journey of self-discovery; a chance to connect, to create, to make mistakes, and to grow. Open your hearts, make those connections, and be ready to step outside your comfort zones, because right now, you aren’t alone. We have each other: a vibrant K31 cohort beginning together, writing the first pages in the book of our youth at DTU.”
A vibrant series of activities to welcome the freshmen of class K31 - outstanding musical performances, many group games, energetic team-building sessions - promises a colorful and inspiring start to their upcoming university journey!
