Disabled Student Awarded Full Scholarship to Continue with University Dream

A student paralyzed in half her body due to encephalitis has received a full scholarship from Duy Tan University (DTU) to continue her study dreams.

 

On September 24, DTU held its 2025–2026 opening ceremony and welcomed its new students.

At the ceremony, the university honored and awarded full scholarships to Nguyen Ngoc Diem Quynh (Multimedia Communication, highest entrance score of 28.55/30), Phan Thi My Hau (Tourism & Hospitality Management in collaboration with Troy University, second highest entrance score of 27.43/30), and Phan Thao Vi (Multimedia Communication, third highest entrance score of 27.34/30).

 

For the first round of 2025 admissions, DTU granted more than 5.76 billion VND in full and partial scholarships, “Tiep suc den truong” scholarships, and many other scholarships.

Of note, at the ceremony, DTU awarded a scholarship fully covering tuition to Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, a student with a disability caused by Japanese encephalitis. Despite the hardship from being paralyzed in nearly half her body, Minh Thuy persevered and continues pursuing her long-cherished dream of studying a major in English.
