marks an important milestone in their partnership and opens valuable

opportunities for students to study and engage in practical experiences

Established in May 1949 with a commitment to educational quality as its foremost priority, Kanazawa University offers training across numerous disciplines, including Engineering, Economics, Law, Medicine, and Pharmacy. The university currently ranks among the Top 20 universities in Japan and among the Top 210 universities in Asia in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025. It plays an important role in advancing Japanese higher education and participates in international initiatives such as “Academic Stronghold of Southeast Asia” and “A Research intensive University Dedicated to Education, Opening its doors to Local society and the Global community.”

At the ceremony, DTU’s Vietnam–Japan Institute of Technology & Engineering (VJIET) officially launched the 2×2 Internship Program, welcoming six outstanding students from Kanazawa University for the period from 20 August 2025 to 24 September 2025. Under this program, DTU and Kanazawa University students will undertake internships and research projects at technology startups in Viet Nam and at Japanese enterprises.

shared extensive information about the 2×2 Internship Program

Specifically, students from DTU and Kanazawa University will be connected through either a “Buddy System” or a “Team Re start up” model during their internships/research activities. They will receive essential preparatory knowledge via Management Development Programs organized by DTU’s faculties to enable effective participation in internship and research activities.

Prof. Dr. Matsushima Daisuke of the University–Industry Collaboration Research Institute, Kanazawa University, stated: “We are delighted to collaborate with DTU to implement the 2×2 Internship Program. The program aims to provide students of DTU and Kanazawa University with opportunities not only to study theory but also to participate directly in real world projects at enterprises. Through this collaborative framework, outstanding students will experience an international working environment, accumulate knowledge and skills, and internalize an entrepreneurial mindset. I am confident that this is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experiences while promoting long term, sustainable cooperation between DTU and Kanazawa University, as well as between Japan and Viet Nam.”

Students selected for the 2×2 Internship Program will pursue business projects on themes such as Environment; Materials & Recycling; Energy-Efficiency-Optimization; and Circular Economy-Models-Solutions. Participants will be invited to propose ideas and form teams, working together both online and in person in Viet Nam.

By participating in the 2×2 Internship Program, DTU students will be able to accumulate “hands on” experience, ranging from business analysis and hypothesis formulation to market research in Viet Nam, pilot sales, and commercialization. In addition, the program fosters the development of Entrepreneurship and PD/CDIO skills (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate), enabling students to apply academic knowledge in practice and nurture creative and entrepreneurial thinking. Through internship and research activities, DTU students will gain access to advanced technologies transferred directly from Japanese enterprises, particularly firms holding proprietary technologies. Beyond academic outcomes, the 2×2 Internship Program also creates opportunities for cultural exchange, learning about Japan, and expanding international networks.

A distinctive highlight of this year’s program is the opportunity to receive scholarships subject to the conditions of Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), reserved specifically for DTU students. Upon completion of the 2×2 Internship Program, the most outstanding students will be selected to study and undertake further experiences at Kanazawa University within the year. This constitutes a solid starting point for DTU students to acquire new knowledge, enhance their skills, and gain exposure to Japan’s advanced educational environment.

Let us join hands in the 2×2 Internship Program to transform ideas into reality and open doors to the international business arena.
