Training Cooperation with Scholarships for Vietnamese students

The partnership between DTU and CBNU began in 2017 with student exchange programs. After years of mutual understanding and growth, the collaboration has now expanded and focuses on the following programs:

-    3+2 Program: Students spend the first 3 years at DTU and the next 2 years at CBNU, earning a Bachelor's degree from DTU and a Master's degree from CBNU in fields like AI, Semiconductors, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, and Food Technology.
-    CBNU G-Cruit Program: Master's students work and study in research laboratories under the guidance of leading professors and researchers at CBNU.
-    2+2 Program: Students spend 2 years at DTU and the next 2 years at CBNU to earn dual Bachelor's degrees in Korean Language and Social Sciences.

A highlight of these programs is the 100% tuition scholarship for DTU students with flexible conditions. Since the beginning of 2025, the first 8 DTU students have successfully transitioned to studying and researching in South Korea under this agreement.

Collaboration to build strong research teams

Both universities have strong research capabilities in Basic sciences and Technology-engineering. Over the past year, the two institutions have established 7 research teams. The goal is to build robust research groups with sustainable and long-term cooperation between the laboratories of both universities, as well as between Vietnamese and South Korean researchers. Many of these projects focus on "hot" fields such as:

•    AI
•    Semiconductors
•    New Materials

The entire budget for these research activities is funded by the South Korean government. It is expected that the number of research teams and the scale of the projects will continue to grow, promising valuable scientific outcomes.

Medical development and Internationalization consultation

With a university hospital system of over 600 beds and years of experience providing medical services in the Chungcheongbuk region, CBNU has substantial expertise in advising DTU on Medicine and Nursing. DTU, which has provided the training in Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing for over 15 years in Da Nang, aspires to be a trusted institution for not only medical education but also for providing healthcare services in the future. The expertise and commitment from CBNU in supporting DTU's direction in this field will be a crucial resource moving forward.

Professor Koh Chang-seop, President of Chungbuk National University and Hero of Labor Le Cong Co,

DTU President, inaugurates the "CBNU Global Center" at DTU

The inauguration of the "CBNU Global Center" at DTU last April marked a clear commitment to long-term cooperation. This move followed CBNU’s selection as one of the 30 universities chosen by the South Korean government for the "Global University" strategic project. The decision to choose Vietnam and DTU as a destination highlights the increasing importance of Vietnam in South Korea’s global education strategy, expanding from economics to education, healthcare, and innovation.
