On the afternoon of July 28, 2025, DTU and Hanoi Metropolitan University officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), marking a significant step forward in strengthening the connection between the two educational institutions. The ceremony was attended by Hanoi Metropolitan University Vice Rector Assoc.Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Tuan; Meritorious Teacher and Hero of Labor Le Cong Co, Chairman of the DTU Board of Trustees; DTU Director Dr Le Nguyen Bao; and leaders from both universities’ institutes, schools, faculties, departments, and offices.

The MoU focuses on advancing activities across several key areas, such as the development and implementation of training programs, organization of scientific conferences, promotion of research activities, and professional development for staff, lecturers, and students at both institutions. This joint effort aims to improve the quality of education and scientific research while meeting the growing societal demand for highly qualified human resources.

During the meeting, representatives from both universities also engaged in in-depth discussions on current critical issues in higher education, such as university governance, institutional autonomy, enhancing the quality of research publications, and the development of science & technology products. Of note, the partners discussed the organization of a scientific conference on “Vietnam Studies: Thirty years of development and future orientation”. This conference is expected to be a significant academic event, reflecting on three decades of progress in Vietnam studies and shaping strategic directions for the continued development of the field in the coming years.
More than opening up sustainable collaborative opportunities for mutual development between DTU and Hanoi Metropolitan University, this cooperation agreement also actively contributes to the improvement of higher education in Vietnam and fosters the sustainable development of education in these times of integration.
