Ha Thi Thanh Van: Journey of overcoming hardship to achieve dream score
The youngest of three siblings, Thanh Van lost her father at a very young age and grew up amidst her mother’s sacrifices and hardships. Despite their difficult circumstances, her mother - a strong and determined woman - worked tirelessly to give her children the best possible access to education. That boundless maternal love became a powerful source of motivation for Thanh Van to overcome every obstacle and rise above herself.

A determined and passionate young woman, Thanh Van is sure
to achieve great success in her new academic journey
During junior high, Thanh Van began helping her mother where she could. Every summer, she would peel lotus seeds to earn money for school supplies for the upcoming school year. “The job was simple but quite tiring, because I had to sit still and do the same thing all day,” Van explains. “But it helped me better understand the value of labor, and it gave me patience and self-reliance. I once read Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass by Nguyen Nhat Anh and was deeply moved by its message of how a pure childhood and an optimistic spirit can help you overcome anything, no matter how tough the challenge.”
Thanh Van’s hard work throughout senior high paid off, bringing her immense joy with her 26/30 points. With this result, she can look forward to a full scholarship from DTU. This achievement is not only the result of her academic efforts, but also a testament to her strength of will in patiently overcoming all adversity over the years.
Thanh Van was especially excited to discover that DTU offers Chinese for Tourism, which she likes a lot. “My mom and my brother and sister fully support my decision to apply to DTU after we carefully researched the university together. It doesn’t just offer quality training programs; students also study with native Chinese speakers and the school organizes many tourism-related extracurricular activities to improve the students’ skills. As a tourist city, Danang moreover attracts a large number of visitors for sightseeing, relaxation, and investment. Students have plenty of opportunities for professional practice with the large number of international tourists, including from China. I’ll do my best to study really well, to one day become both translator and tour guide - which is my passion and what I’ve been dreaming of for so long.”
Nguyen Trong Phuc: Turning dreams into reality at DTU with Multimedia Communications
Born into a farming family, Nguyen Trong Phuc grew up understanding the hard and hectic work his parents did in the fields year-round. He considers education the most practical - not to say the only - path to changing his fate and supporting his family in the future.
Thanks to a serious study routine, Trong Phuc achieved 26.03/30 in the C00 subject group for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, with 9 in Literature, 8 in History, and 8.75 in Geography. This impressive result is the fruit of his persistent efforts and a meaningful gift to his parents, who worked so hard to provide for their children’s education.

With confidence and excitement, Trong Phuc is about to begin his university journey at DTU
His performance has also earned him the opportunity to receive a full scholarship for Multimedia Communications at DTU, which he believes will be a solid base for pursuing his passion and becoming a content creator or event organizer later.
Among the three subjects, Literature was his highest score and also his favorite subject. “In 11th grade, I had the luck to be chosen for the school-level Skilled-Student contest in Literature,” Trong Phuc explains. “Preparing and reviewing for the contest was a precious experience that launched me towards high grades in the graduation exam. Throughout high school, I was also really enthusiastic every time I could join group activities. I loved helping out to organize events and my teachers often entrusted me with coming up with ideas, designing the setting, writing scripts, or supporting the organization of school events big and small. That’s why I believe DTU’s major in Multimedia Communications, with its quality curriculum, enthusiastic lecturers, and plenty of extracurricular activities, will suit my personality and my choices.”
Trong Phuc is furthermore very happy that many of his classmates are also applying to DTU: “As I prepare to move away from my family and to Danang for university, I’m really happy that I won’t be alone and that quite a number of my classmates are also applying at DTU. A lot of them also chose Multimedia Communications. Sharing this passion, I’m sure we’ll all study well and gain a lot of knowledge for our future careers.”
Nguyen Thuy Tram: 9.75/10 in Geography
Hailing from the sun-drenched and wind-swept red-basalt soils, little Nguyen Thuy Tram was determined to study really well and turn her dream of entering university into reality, driven by her belief and her relentless personal effort. Through diligence and a clear study strategy, she impressed with a total of 25.33/30 in the C00 subject group and a near-perfect 9.75 in Geography.
To Thuy Tram, learning is a journey that demands initiative and self-awareness. From listening when in class and identifying key topics by herself to patiently practicing exam questions each day, she maintained a consistent and disciplined approach to her studies.

Thuy Tram chose the PSU-standard program in Tourism & Travel Management,
wishing to introduce the beauty of her homeland to the world
Thuy Tram’s nice exam results mark a solid beginning, but her greatest joy is the full scholarship to study PSU-standard Tourism & Travel Management at DTU - a school she has long researched and admired. The scholarship is not only a reward for her unceasing efforts, but also a meaningful gift that eases the financial burden on her parents, who toil year-round in the sun-drenched and wind-swept Central Highlands tending to their coffee and pepper crops. Thuy Tram understands that raising and educating three children well was hard on her parents, and that is why this full scholarship awarded by DTU will be a powerful motivation for her to continue striving - not just to succeed academically, but also to one day make herself useful and care for her parents and society.
Thuy Tram shared an interesting detail about her decision to attend DTU: Her older brother is a DTU alumnus in IT and now has a stable job. After hearing his stories of the university and after carefully researching the PSU-standard major in Tourism & Travel Management, Thuy Tram decided to leave the mountains for the coast to pursue the field she loves.
“DTU has international-standard tourism program, a dynamic learning environment, and modern facilities - perfect support for students,” Thuy Tram explains. “That’s why I truly want to experience it all and become a skilled tour guide. My hometown is filled with stunning natural beauty - lush forests, clear and cool waterfalls - and local specialties like sticky rice in bamboo and red vermicelli, which many visitors love. I hope that, during my university years and after graduation, I’ll have the chance to introduce Dak Lak and the rest of Vietnam to the world. Danang is a tourist city, and studying there offers many advantages, to get practice and develop a career, as my family expect from me.”
