A Top-tier arena
Co-organized by SAP University Alliances (part of SAP, the world’s leading company in enterprise resource planning solutions) and HEC Montréal, the ERPsim International Competition 2025 offers an ideal platform for talented students to test their business management skills using SAP ERP, a tool widely applied for optimizing business management and operations worldwide.
The ERPsim International Competition 2025 final round was a high-level arena for students from leading universities worldwide. Teams had to face challenges in managing and optimizing business activities using the SAP S/4HANA platform.
Fifteen top teams from the US, Finland, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Chile, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines participated in this year’s competition, including two teams from Vietnam:
- The Dongry Corporation team from DTU, champion of the SAP ERPsim Student Competition 2025 - APJ Cup in the Asia-Pacific region, and
- The team from Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
In the world finals, teams had to compete in four rounds, managing a company producing and distributing breakfast cereals (Muesli) with 12 different product lines.
Without inventory and supply chains, teams had to build the entire business operation process, from strategic planning to procurement, production, product development, accounting, finance, logistics, distribution, and sales.

This year’s competition was unique in that the rounds integrated random disruptions, creating unexpected situations that required teams to develop flexible strategies and make quick decisions.
Moreover, teams were also required to solve the "carbon emission" problem, an important factor impacting profitability as consumers increasingly prioritize "green" and environmentally friendly businesses.
Flexible problem-solving
Throughout the rounds, the Dongry Corporation team showcased not only creative breakthroughs and outstanding supply chain management skills but also firm leadership and strategic thinking when facing unexpected challenges.
They handled random disruptions effectively, from financial crises to sudden supply chain fluctuations, challenges that many other teams failed to overcome.
The organizers awarded prizes to the top teams, as follows:

Tr?nh Thanh Ly, CEO of the DTU Dongry Corporation team, shared: "The competition lasted about two hours, but every minute was full of tension and anticipation. When the results were announced, we were overwhelmed with happiness and pride.
We encountered many disruptions in the supply chain but quickly adapted and implemented timely solutions. The key was that our team remained calm, coordinated, and made the right decisions.
This was a valuable experience, helping me learn more about business models, decision-making under pressure, and teamwork. We are very proud to represent Vietnam and DTU in this international competition and win.
This is truly a journey of self-discovery, and I sincerely thank DTU leadership and the professors at the SouthStar Management Institute (SMi) and the Business Intelligence Center (BIC) for always being by our side, enthusiastically teaching and supporting us to achieve success today."
