A training program of quality leads to able students, shown through their academic achievements and their ability to win major competitions domestically and internationally.
Effective collaboration with companies like Samsung, Fore, Alibaba, and many other major IT partners, with the common goal of training IT talent at Duy Tan University (DTU), has been leading to significant successes, particularly in the past year of 2024. This gives a reliable indicator to parents and students, who can confidently choose DTU for their university journey in 2025.
Samsung and Fore invest in diverse IT talent development at DTU
DTU students of IT study with training programs of the highest quality, including three courses offered by Samsung:
? Internet of Things (IoT),
? Artificial Intelligence (AI), and
? Big Data,
in addition to a basic Coding & Programming course.

The partnership with Samsung offers students an opportunity for quality education and hands-on experience right at DTU
The success of the collaboration with DTU on the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) project along with many other professional exchanges has spurred Samsung Vietnam to sponsor a lab with thirty high-configuration computers, a laptop, and a smart TV for use in training at the DTU School of Computer Science (SCS). After being accepted for internships at the Samsung Research & Development Center Vietnam (SRV) in Hanoi, eight DTU students who excelled in the SIC course later found official employment at the SRV.
In the same year, Fore JSC (Japan) sponsored DTU with a cyber-security lab for network security research and practice. The lab comes with twenty high- configuration laptops with specialized software, a server, and various other network devices. The “Cybersecurity Talent Incubator” project, also known as Project Blue Rock, that Fore JSC and DTU implemented is achieving impressive results and provides society with outstanding information security specialists.

Cyber-security lab with high-configuration computers sponsored by Fore gives DTU students opportunities for practice and to earn four figures a month
At the graduation ceremony for the first Blue Rock cohort, every single one of the DTU graduates were recruited by Fore and LLL JSC (Japan) to work in Vietnam, with salaries from $1,200 to $2,200 per month. This project attracts many students: they are trained with the latest network security knowledge and earn from $400 to $800 per month while still studying at DTU. Depending on each student’s capabilities, Fore may continue paying them experts’ salaries. This further confirms the exceptional abilities of DTU students, who enjoy recognition while still studying.
Also in 2024, Alibaba signed an agreement with DTU concerning the Alibaba Cloud Academic Empowerment Program (AAEP), worth the equivalent of $3 million in cloud resources for DTU lecturers and students. The Alibaba Cloud Academy will also provide consultation and necessary support with various cloud technologies to aid the future development of DTU concerning innovation, green digital cooperation nationwide, and various smart education initiatives.
DTU students shine in competitions on robotics, AI, information security, and game design
With a well-structured curriculum, up-to-date specialized knowledge, professional and passionate lecturers graduated from world-renowned universities and from prestigious businesses in the field, and the opportunity to study in modern, specialized IT labs, DTU students invariably end up confidently masters of technology and get top positions in both domestic and international competitions.
In 2024, DTU’s “robot warriors” won one special award, one first prize, one second prize, and an Innovative Idea award at the national competition “ROBOG 2024” on September 22, 2024. The highlight of this competition was that all teams used the same Yanshee humanoid robot design and the UGOT kit, but through creative AI programming, they gave their robots different capabilities to overcome obstacles and finish the race. The top prize earned DTU’s team The Suff a spot to represent Vietnam in the world finals to take place in China later this year.

DTU students impress with their first prizes in robotics & AI competitions
At the national science & technology competition “Innovation Tech Challenge 2024”, organized by Samsung Vietnam in collaboration with Junior Achievement on August 29, 2024, DTU students once more claimed the first prize with their outstanding robot design. This was the second year that DTU students won the highest prize, as they already won first and second prize in 2023.
DTU’s modern training environment equipped with high-configuration computers, laptops, and smart TVs provided by Samsung, Fore, and Alibaba gives students optimal conditions for study, practice, and research, and inspired them to win big with their recent robot research.
DTU students won first prize in the category of open source software at the 33rd Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad and second prize at ASEAN Cyber Shield 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia
Besides robotics & AI, DTU students of Network Security are also proud of their big prizes:
? second prize at ASEAN Cyber Shield 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia,
? second prize at the ASEAN Student Information Security contest in 2022 and 2023,
? third prize at the 2022 Arab Security Cyber Wargames in Egypt,
? third prize at the 2022 information security contest Security Bootcamp,
? third prize at the 2022 Insomnihack CTF finals in Switzerland.
Furthermore, the (white-hat hackers) information security team ISITDTU consistently ranks at the top in Vietnam (many years since 2019) on the CTF Time global leaderboard.

Open lab model optimally supports students practicing Network Security
For its program in Network Security, DTU has established two specialized practice rooms following the open lab model:
? an Information Warfare practice room, and
? a Network Engineering practice room,
fully equipped with specialized network devices such as servers, routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and load balancing devices (from various manufacturers like Cisco, Fortinet, and Drytech). These provide DTU students with the best conditions for study and to prepare for domestic and international information security competitions.

Data center with multi-directional internet connectivity and high bandwidth at DTU
In game design, DTU students consistently rank high in numerous competitions:
? first and second prize at the 2024 national Talent Search for Graphic Design & Game Programming,
? top five at the Towards the Future 2024 exhibition, and entry in the International Design Forum in Taiwan,
? Innovative Technology Application award at the national conference on Applied Arts Education in the Context of Cultural Industry Development in 2024.
More recently in late 2024, DTU students won first prize in the category of open source software at the 33rd Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad. This major achievement further affirms the abilities and spirit of DTU students in major contests and particularly in IT - DTU’s strength and focus.
Maintaining a global ranking in 300+ range with several ABET accreditations
DTU’s programs in computer science have consistently maintained a position in the 300+ range in global rankings:
? in the 301–400 range in the Shanghai Ranking 2024,
? in the 351–400 range in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024.

DTU was in the 301-400 range worldwide in the Shanghai Ranking 2024
This is the foundation and gives DTU the reputation to continue expanding its IT programs. The university currently offers many IT-related programs:
Software Technology Engineering with minors:
? Software Engineering,
? advanced & high-quality CMU-standard Software Engineering (ABET-accredited in 2021),
? Game Design & Multimedia,
? Big Data & Machine Learning (HP) Talent Program,
? Artificial Intelligence (HP) Talent Program.
Information Security and Computer Networks & Data Communications with minors:
? Network Engineering (ABET-accredited in 2019),
? advanced & high-quality CMU-standard Information Security.
Advanced & high-quality CMU-standard Management Information Systems (ABET-accredited in 2019),
? Computer Science,
? Data Science.
This is also the field where DTU has many programs that received ABET accreditation - the “gold standard” for technology & engineering education in the US:
? Software Engineering: ABET-accredited in 2021,
? Network Engineering: ABET-accredited in 2019,
? Management Information Systems: ABET-accredited in 2019.
These programs received the highest ABET-accreditation level of 6 years. Many courses are taught in English by lecturers from universities in the US or by the Vietnamese and foreign lecturers at the DTU International School (IS).
Students enrolled in IT and computer science programs at DTU study with the most up-to-date programs “imported” from Carnegie Mellon University, one of the four leading universities in IT in the US (according to U.S. News 2024), giving them confidence when they enter the global job market with the most comprehensive skills.
