The ceremony was attended by Minister of Education & Training (MoET) Nguyen Kim Son; Chairman of the Danang People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh; Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi; and representatives from diplomatic agencies in Danang.
MoET Nguyen Kim Son congratulated DTU on its accomplishments and contributions during its development. The university was one of the first five people-founded universities in the country in the new era. Having overcome numerous challenges, it has been growing relentlessly and making significant contributions to training a workforce for Danang, other parts of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, and the rest of the country.
MoET Nguyen Kim Son acknowledged and congratulated the university on its recent achievements and contributions to education and to the nation. The founding and growth of the university has played a role in reshaping the public–private structure of Vietnamese higher education and transforming the university landscape, and has contributed to education reform. Both Party and State regard the development of public and private universities as equal.

The upgrade in the administrative status of DTU will change its organizational and management model and is testament to the maturity and new development needs of the university itself. The Minister expressed the hope that it will be an in-depth change that unleashes creativity and fosters modern and smart management, and also that the school would operate with a more scientific and advanced management apparatus, at a larger scale, with a higher mission, and with a longer and wider vision - toward sustainable development.
“With this organizational shift, the university should review its philosophy, development strategy, mission, and vision; reexamine university governance, pedagogical methods, research and publications, and attracting and developing talent; and make quality a priority,” MoET Nguyen Kim Son emphasized. “The Ministry of Education & Training will continue to care, provide support, and supervise to ensure the university’s steady growth and continued success.”
