On July 11th, the internship closing ceremony for 216 DTU medical students took place at the Training and Direction of Healthcare Activities Center of the Hue Central Hospital, which is ranked as one of three country-wide leading public hospitals.

Attendees included Dr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan, Deputy Director of the Hue Central Hospital; the Board of Directors of the Training and Direction of Healthcare Activities Center; Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, DTU Vice-Provost; Dr. Vo Thi Ha Hoa, Dean of the Medical Faculty; doctors, lecturers and 216 DTU medical students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan highly praised the abilities and learning spirit of DTU interns. During their internships, they had been lectured by attending physicians at the Hue Central Hospital via elearning (Sakai+Zoom) before receiving exposure to the clinical environment in the areas of Hematology, Pediatrics, Maternity, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Cardiomyopathy, Endocrinology, Neurology and others.
DTU students are instructed by wholehearted doctors to do basic hospital work
During their internships at the Hue Central Hospital, the DTU students rotated between different departments, were exposed to different medical specialties and shadowed doctors in all their duties. They also participated in daily and weekly meeting and seminars at the hospital.
On behalf of the DTU Board of Provosts, Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh respectfully acknowledged the dedication the doctors and staff of Hue Central Hospital had given the DTU students. Also, Dr. Minh talked about some scientific achievements that the Hospital and DTU gained in recent years.
Typically, the Hue Central Hospital successfully cured several foreign Covid-19 patients. The Stroke centre at the Hue Central Hospital was awarded Platinum Status by the World Stroke Organisation (WSO).
The prestigious WSO award is for stroke centres around the world adopting strict requirements in training, equipment, and the treatment of acute strokes, among other matters.

- The second Vietnamese university to obtain American ABET accreditation
- Ranked among Asia's 500 best universities by QS
- Ranked 1,659th in the top 2,000 universities worldwide and third of four in Vietnam by CWUR
- Ranked 1,147th in the top 2,500 universities worldwide and third of eight in Vietnam by URAP
- Ranked second of ten leading universities of Vietnam by international publications by the Nature Index.
