DTU works with the Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children

On August 2, DTU welcomed a delegation from the Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children. The meeting focused on reviewing higher education policy and its legal implementation.
 
Education quality accreditation plays an important role in helping universities successfully address shortcomings in their education programs and devising timely solutions. DTU is in the process of accrediting both national and international academic programs, such as ABET, ACBSP, AACSB and WTO - TedQual.

Mr. Pham Tat Thang, Deputy-Chairman of the Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children speaks
 
Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice-Provost, gave a brief presentation about the DTU human resources, international partnerships, facilities, education and research. Currently, the university has 1,200 staff and lecturers and 19,000 students nationwide. Recently, DTU has collaborated with 4 foreign universities to share 14 of their international programs, including Carnegie Mellon University, one of the leading universities in IT education in the USA, the University of Pennsylvania, one of the leaders in Hotel Management & Tourism, the University of California in Fullerton and Pomona, a top institution on the West Coast of the US, and Perdue University, which offers advanced Electrical Engineering programs.  In 2018-2019, DTU researchers published 840 papers in ISI and Scopus journals. DTU was ranked eighth in Vietnamese education and research institutions by Nature Index.

Participants gave an initial assessment of the necessary documents and policies for accreditation, the advantages of the self-assessment document system and current problems with the state management of the university accreditation process.     
 
Also discussed were the advantages and disadvantages institutions face with policies to improve Vietnamese education now and in the future.
