Achievements

With their crushing 4 - 1 victory over the University of Science and Technology in the second leg of the finals on June 3, the DTU team won the first Danang Student Futsal Championship of 2018.

 

 

The 2018 Danang Student Futsal Championship is a tournament held in the framework of the professional HDBank 2018 National Futsal Championship. This year it was organized for the first time, with ten teams from different universities and colleges around Danang: the University of Science and Technology, the University of Economics, the University of Education, the University of Foreign Language Studies, the University of Technology and Education, the College of Information Technology, the University of Architecture, the University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, and Dong A University. After one month of lively and dramatic competition (starting beginning of May) at the Tien Son Sports Palace, Danang, the two most outstanding teams of the cup, DTU and the University of Science and Technology, met for a heated confrontation in the final round.

 

At the first leg of the finals on June 2, the DTU players did their utmost to get the ball into the University of Science and Technology net, and they ended with a 1- 0 victory. After the first leg, the DTU team kind of grasped their adversaries’ playing style, and this combined with their previous victory gave them a lot of confidence and preparation for the second leg of the finals on June 3, 2018. Using both attacking and defensive tactics, the DTU players blocked many dangerous shots from the University of Science and Technology and managed to threaten their rivals’ goal posts time and again. Receiving an accurate pass from his teammates, the DTU player with shirt number 11,  Vo Duy Vu, shot the ball into the net of their opponents and made the first goal, setting a 1- 0 score for the first half.

 

  

 

The goal from the first half encouraged the DTU boys to continue attacking and to treat the audience on some eye-catching passes and breathtaking shots for the twenty minutes of the second half. With a competitive spirit, good physical strength, and strong balance throughout the match, the DTU team showed their strength and level with several more balls in the goal of their rivals. DTU’s crushing 4 - 1 victory made them the winners of this first Danang Student Futsal Companion Championship of 2018.

At the closing ceremony of the tournament, the organizers awarded the DTU team the champions’ cup and a golden medal. The University of Science and Technology team won the second prize, the University of Technology and Education team the third prize, and a style prize went to the University of Architecture team. In addition, two additional prizes were awarded to DTU: the prize for best goalkeeper to Hoang Anh Hieu and the prize for best player to Le Hung  Do.
