Several other teams gave up during the contest. However, the IST-DTU team of Vo Viet Tung, Nguyen Oanh Thuong, Vo Thua Phuc Nguyen and Nguyen Huu Tuat persevered to the end. The +217 Team from the National University of Taiwan came first and HITCON, a Taiwanese security company came second.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Tuan, a DTU IT lecturer, said: “DTU’s other recent achievements include a third prize at the WhiteHat Contest 11, a 13th place out of 681 against international teams at Hackcon 2016, 4th out of 20 strong teams in Switzerland, and 17th in the finals of the 2016 International Information Security competition, which included experts from global security companies. Our continuing success affirms DTU’s strength in global information security competitions. The team will continue to broaden their knowledge and skills and the university will continue to provide them with the ideal environment to further develop their capabilities and self-confidence, in preparation for future contests.”
