An Agreement with the Bkav Company

On August 19th, DTU signed an agreement with the Bkav Company. Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh, Deputy Chairman of Network Security at Bkav, Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, leaders of local information technology companies, DTU lecturers and students attended.

 
The Signing

Founded in 1995, Bkav is a technology company active in Network Security, software, e-government, the production of smart electronic devices and cloud computing services. Bkav employs 1,800 people, with headquarters in Hanoi and branches in Danang and Ho Chi Minh City. It also has representative offices in Singapore and the US. Bkav was listed as one of the ten best-known Vietnamese brands by the Vietnam Intellectual Property Association and ranked in the top 10 in customer service by the Vietnam Standards and Consumer Protection Association. Bkav is also the first Vietnamese company listed as a “Cool Vendor” in emerging global markets by the world’s leading information technology consultant, the Gartner Group.

“Protecting information and data is always a priority issue for government and business,” explained Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Vice-Provost. “This is why the demand for network security experts is on the rise, opening many professional opportunities for students of this major. Aware of this demand, DTU has been continuously spearheading the development of information technology programs, including Network Security. This major is founded on the transfer programs from Carnegie Mellon University, one of the four leading universities in Information Technology in the US. DTU has created teams which have enjoyed considerable success in national and international Information Security contests. In the near future, the university will continue to broaden their development with the continuing support of highly experienced people, like those at Bkav.”
 
 
Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh awards scholarships to five outstanding DTU students

Under the terms of the agreement, DTU will assign students from the Faculty of Information Technology to internships every year. In addition, Bkav will work with DTUto build Network Security courses, send experts to teach practical network security, take part in DTU job fairs and offer seminars at DTU.

To meet society’s ever-increasing demands in Information Technology, Bkav and DTU will work together to research strategic, scientific issues in Information Technology and Security.  Bkav will team up with DTU to assist researchers to come up with highly applicable real-life technological product solutions. At the same time, they will permit expert DTU staff, lecturers and students to become administrators at the WhiteHat Network Security forum and collaborate in the exchange of information and personnel to organize the content and evaluation of national and international Network Security contests.

Mr. Anh awarded five BCSE Network Security scholarships, worth 14.5 million VND each, to outstanding IT students. His talk entitled “The Network Security Workforce in our Digital Age” helped students in Network Security to understand their discipline better and learn about different types of jobs available, in order to orientate themselves better in the future.
