The DTU Social Science and Economic Law Programs

The economic development of Vietnam in the past years has sent many applicants racing to disciplines in Economics, Management, Technology, or Engineering, leaving them lukewarm about social sciences or law studies.

However, labor market statistics show there are rather many career opportunities in the majors of social sciences, writing, literature, and law, without as much competition as in the previously mentioned ones. The current issue is that the training quality in social sciences at many universities has not yet met societal requirements.

With over ten years of experience providing training in social sciences, DTU will, in 2016-2017, further open admissions in social science and humanities disciplines, in answer to the structural expansion of these fields in Central Vietnam in recent years and timely meeting the pressing need from society.

Focusing on teaching the appropriate soft skills and English to Humanities & Social Science students, the DTU International Relations program broadens job opportunities for students nationwide at a time when Vietnam is on the road to global integration, after becoming an official member of ASEAN in late 2015 and a TPP member in 2018.

Choosing to study Literature and Journalism at DTU, students will be able to become reporters or editors for press agencies, radio and television stations, or media companies. Graduates in Culture and Tourism will be candidates of choice for hotels, restaurants, travel agents, and museums.

In the academic year 2014-2015, DTU was approved by the Ministry of Justice and MOET to offer an Economic Law Program. Students of Economic Law at DTU will have the opportunity to find employment in State agencies for Economic Management, Justice Organizations from central to local level, Research Institutes, Education and training establishments in law studies, departments responsible for environmental control or management or for workplace safety, or manufacturing enterprises and businesses.

To renovate teaching methodology, in recent years, DTU Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has adopted PBL (Problem-Based Learning/Project-Based Learning), a new teaching methodology used in developed countries worldwide. Students at DTU will be provided with advanced knowledge, skills and professional experiences.

To enhance the quality of education, the Faculty has partnered with leading universities and research institutes, nationally and abroad, including  the VNU University of Social Science and Humanities, the Vietnam National University in HCMC, the Hanoi National  University of Education, the Literature Institute of  the Danang University of Education, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, the Hue University of Science, the University of Economics and Law at Vietnam National University in HCMC and well-known universities in the US, Thailand and Singapore.
