Duy Tan University, one of the four leading representatives at the 2016 Architecture Festival, was outdone only by those universities with a rich tradition, such as the Hanoi Architectural University and the HCMC University of Architecture.
DTU students at the 2016 National Architecture Festival
Winning 14 prizes, including one first, six seconds, six thirds and one Lucky prize, DTU became one of the four universities with best performances at the 2016 National Architecture Student Festival taking place from April 16th till 19th at Yersin University in Dalat.
This year festival, with its topic “Dalat - The Architecture, Forests and Flowers”, attracted 600 students and 100 lecturers of Architecture from 22 universities nationwide. DTU students entered all nine sections of the contest, coming up with creative and novel ideas to express meaningful messages. DTU won the most awards ever in the festival.
The Architectural Idea 1 and 2 sections highlighted the talents of the DTU students, who aroused viewers’ thoughts with their work “A Plan for Dalat Flower Village”. They also created unique designs for “The Culture of Gongs Exchange in the Highlands”. Of which, in the Architectural Idea 1 section, first prize went to Do Tu Thien and two third prizes to Luu Nhu Thinh and Le Cong Huynh.
DTU students win a big collection of awards at the 2016 National Architecture Festival
Pham Thi Hang won a first prize in the Architectural Idea 2 section with project entitled “The Sound”. To conduct this project, Pham Thi Hang and her team used many illustrative pictures and materials such as stone, wood, bamboo, and neohauzeaua to simulate a work of the culture of Gongs Exchange in the Highlands. Le Duc Hoan won a second prize and Hoang Van Tien won a third prize in the Architectural Idea 2 section.
With the theme “New life from Recycled Materials” using materials such as glass bottles, CDs, and dry twigs and ideas, derived from flowers still in bloom after a forest fire, DTU captured a second prize in the Recycled Arrangement Architecture section. With a strange but beautiful 3D panel, in the Panel Exhibition, DTU came third with an overview of the founding and development of DTU and the Faculty of Architecture.
In the Photographic Architecture section, Phan Thi Phuong won one first and one third prize. Each of Phan Thi Phuong’s pictures impressively captured wonderful scenes of nature and the people of Dalat.
With sharp sketch work and lively colors, clearly portraying the unique Dalat architecture, Le Duc Hoan won a second prize and Pham Van Duc gained a third prize in the Sketched Architecture section.
In addition, with their youthful energy and enthusiasm, DTU also obtained a second prize in Art Presentation, and one Lucky prize in the Mobile Architecture section.
