On March 19th, an agreement was made with the Song Thu Corporation to teach English for shipbuilding. Attendees included Colonel Ha Son Hai, Director of the Song Thu Corporation, Colonel Nguyen Duc Trung, Manager of Human Resources, Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, and staff and students from the DTU Vocational School.

Colonel Hai said: “Everyone knows that English is now spoken internationally. When the Song Thu Corporation staff and workers are able to speak English fluently, we will have more international business opportunities. So we have decided to improve their level of English by providing high-quality training courses. We are sure that, with the help of experienced DTU lecturers using modern teaching methods, our staff will soon be able to communicate in proficient English. This will help us be more confident when working with our foreign partners. We will have easy access to the most advanced technology, improve productivity and contribute to the long-term development of our company.”

Under the agreement, the DTU Vocational school will provide an English course for Shipbuilding, which will be divided into three levels, Basic English, English for Engineers and Advanced English and available to all employees of Song Thu. The course is expected to start in April and end in September, and will be taught by three American and four Vietnamese lecturers.
The signing of the agreement with Song Thu is another way of expanding and enhancing partnerships between DTU and local companies and helps to provide the community with a more highly-qualified workforce.
