In five hours, participating teams had to find solutions to twelve programming problems in English. Each incorrect solution was automatically penalized by twenty minutes. Nguyen Tran Viet Chuong, Le Quang Hiep and Le Ngoc An, of the DTU team, came up with nine correct solutions and finished second. The Danang Never Over team of Danang University came first with the same number of correct solutions as DTU but in less time. In the previous contest, DTU students found only three correct solutions and ranked 60th.

Nguyen Tran Viet Chuong said: “Before the contest, we took many trial tests online, both nationally and internationally. The ACM/ICPC competition allowed us to broaden our knowledge and put it into practice. It also helped us develop our creative thinking and programming skills, reading and analyzing materials in English and so on.”

The DTU team entered the National ACM/ICPC Finals on October 31st. DTU will be one of the nine contest hosts. The talented and ambitious DTU team is expected to be very successful.
