DTU Takes Part in a Photo Exhibition on Solutions to Climate Change

Duy Tan University partnered with the French Development Agency, AFD, to organize two photo exhibitions, entitled “Sixty Solutions to Cope with Climate Change” and “Twenty Years of AFD Support in the development of Vietnam”. The objective was to provide a deeper understanding of climate change and changing habitats in Vietnam and worldwide.

The Grand Opening was attended by Mr. Rémi Genevey, Director of the French Development Agency in Vietnam; Professor Do Hoai Nam, former Party Central Committee member and former Chairman of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; Mr. Ha Phuoc Mai, Director of the Danang Museum; Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost; delegates from Danang city departments; national and international guests and many DTU staff and lecturers.

Fifty-four photos by famous photographers, including Nicolas Cornet, Laurent Weyl and Binh Dang were on display. Among these, the thirty-four photos in the “Sixty Solutions to Cope with Climate Change” exhibition showcased highly effective solutions in the battle against climate change, compatible with economic development. These included the use of clean and renewable energy sources, waste recycling, traffic improvement, solar energy for houses, sustainable forest management and many others. The exhibition “Twenty Years of AFD Support in the development of Vietnam” had twenty pictures on display, exhibiting the development work and accomplishments of AFD working to improve living standards in Vietnam through rural, agricultural and infrastructure projects and so on.
 
“Through exhibitions, such as the one today, DTU wants to provide more information about the current status of global climate change to everyone,” DTU Vice-Provost Dr. Vo Thanh Hai explained. “About the significant ways that global warming effects our environment and our lives. In this way, we want to contribute to a greater awareness and sense of responsibility to those working on construction and environmental protection projects. Our policy is also to link education closely with real life, aiming to improve the educational standard of the Faculty of the Environment even further, and of DTU in general.”
