Contestants at the event
The 2014 DTU Innovation Cup contest, using a Windows Phone platform, took place from October 15th to December 15th. It attracted the participation of a large number of students from universities and colleges in the area. The Organizers received twenty-six submissions at the primary round, of which fifteen high quality products were selected for the finals.
Nguyen Thi Ca, a Platform Specialist of Microsoft Vietnam and head of the jury, said:
"Frankly speaking, the quality of the submissions of the DTU INNOVATION CUP 2014 is higher than that of the Microsoft Mobile HACKATHON 2014. There are many community-supporting software submissions that need further development so that they can be widely applied in real life. This means contestants are talented and seriously aware of community responsibility. Many applications programmed by DTU students are quite complete with bright images and can be stored in phone apps stores."

“Programming Detective Hyde, we wanted to contribute to developing a lot of games with good influence on the community. The DTU Microsoft Innovation Center has provided us much support on technology and graphics. The knowledge of IT we acquired at DTU, and the achievement we gained in this contest helped us develop many more software programming ideas and interesting games.”
The valuable awards DTU students won in the 2014 DTU Innovation Contest resulted from the very support by the DTU Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC). As soon as the Innovation Center came into operation, it developed several new projects, including programming for Microsoft and the development of innovative concepts and solutions by DTU faculty and students. It provides students, locally and nationwide, access to Microsoft’s latest technology and serves as a bridge between Microsoft and IT experts who are planning to participate in both annual national and international competitions. These include the Mobile Hackathon, the Microsoft Image Cup, the Microsoft Office Specialist competitions and others. The MIC broadens opportunities for pupils and students of DTU and other educational institutions in the region and the country to access the latest information provided by Microsoft’s specialists.
