On October 10th, DTU held a seminar entitled “Latest Research on Fresh Concrete”. Attendees included representatives of the Dang Hai Concrete Company, the 519 company, the Chu Lai Concrete Enterprise of the Hoa Cam Concrete Company, the Vinaconex25 Company and lecturers and students from local universities and colleges.
Associate Professor Ngo Tien Tung
Associate Professor Tung, Director of the Master’s program of Construction and Infrastructure from the Cergy Pontoise University in France, presented his research on the optimization of the casting fresh concrete. This information proved invaluable to those working in construction in Vietnam. Dr. Nguyen The Duong, Dean of the DTU Faculty of Civil Engineering, then briefly summarized the research his team is conducting at DTU on friction between fresh concrete and the pump-wall.

At the end of the seminar, the Dang Hai Concrete Company invited DTU lecturers of the Faculty of Civil Engineering to pay a working-visit to their company, to pursue a potential future. Founded in 2008, Dang Hai specializes in the mass production of concrete and its clients include the Danang Administrative Center, the Azura apartment complex, the Dao Xanh Hotel, the Crown Casino and many others.
The DTU Faculty of Civil Engineering offers programs from an Associate Bachelor’s Degree to a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. The Faculty has many young PhDs from renowned foreign universities.
The seminar provided a bridge between business and the DTU Faculty of Civil Engineering to enhance quality of education by collaborating with local construction companies to do joint research and production and to expand their partnerships in the near future.
