Taking advantage of some excellent new teaching methods, DTU lecturers won one first, one second, two third and three consolation prizes at the 2014 Vocational Teachers’ Festival. They entered the top 5 teams to compete in 2015 the National Vocational Teachers’ Festival. It was the first time that DTU had attended the event and the awards were proof of the steady improvement of the quality of academic education in Danang.

Held every two years by the Danang Department of Labor Invalids and Social Affairs, the festival is a place for teachers to get together, share experiences and promote teaching skills to enhance teacher competency. Fifty-seven teachers and lecturers attended the 2014 festival from fifteen local vocational schools. The judges recognized the performance of the twelve DTU lecturers. Ms. Nguyen Tran Thuy An won a first prize in Reception Skills and entered the top 5 to compete in the National Vocational Teachers’ Festival.
The judges commended Ms. Ly Thi Thuong, who won second prize by successfully combining different skills, such as questioning and answering, simulation and role-playing.

Two third prizes were awarded to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong for a lecture in English entitled “Taking Food Orders”. Three consolation prizes were awarded to Nguyen Thi Ai Diem, Dinh Thi My Le and Vo Hong Hanh. Ms. Thuy An said:
“Having the opportunity to teach at a modern, professional educational institution like DTU, and to take field trips to five-star resorts in Danang has provided me a lot of experience to perfect my lectures. The festival was especially important for us to evaluate ourselves and hone our teaching skills.”
Students of the DTU Vocational School have benefited significantly by learning through the latest international teaching methods, thanks to the collaboration with American and Singaporean colleges. For example, in September 2013, Bich Hong, a DTU student of Hospitality and Tourism beat many other students in Danang to win second prize at the 2013 Danang Hotel Receptionists’ Competition.
At the 2014 Danang Skills Competition, DTU students won one first, two thirds and three consolation prizes in Graphic Design, Website Design and Culinary and Restaurant service. In Graphic Design, Nguyen Thi Kieu Tien came first.

Duy Tan University (DTU) is the first and biggest private university in Central Vietnam, founded on November 11th, 1994. During twenty years of establishment and development, DTU has won wide recognition throughout Vietnam. On November 11th this year, DTU will celebrate its anniversary at the Trung Vuong Theatre in Danang. The ceremony is to demonstrate the university’s appreciation of the DTU lecturers and students and to recognize their continuing dedication over the past 20 years.
