With youthful enthusiasm and readiness to engage in community volunteering work, DTU youths have, in recent years, made many dedicated contributions to a developing and beautiful Danang.The efforts of the DTU youths have been noted at the “2014 Youth Volunteer Festival - Union Awards and Honoring model youths following Ho Chi Minh’s teachings”, organized on 5th October 2014 at the Trung Vuong Theater, Danang.

The “2014 Youth Volunteer Festival - Union Awards and Honoring model youths following Ho Chi Minh’s teachings ” was organized by the Danang City Youth Union Standing Committee aimed at carrying out the 2014 Youth Union and Movement Working Program. This activity was to timely mobilize and to award individuals or groups with representative accomplishments in the “Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign”, and to implement Directive 03-CT/TW of the Politburo about “Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh”. 39 Youth Volunteer units and many individuals with outstanding achievements were honored at the festival.
With their good organization of activities like blood donation, “Heading towards the Sea and islands”, international exchange, Summer Volunteering, and youth work construction, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of DTU received a certificate of merit for outstanding achievements in the 2014 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign from the People’s Committee of Danang. Furthermore, the Central Union awarded the Executive Committee of the DTU Faculty of Civil Engineering Union Branch a certificate of merit for outstanding achievements in the 2014 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. Two individuals were also awarded: Nguyen Van Tien, Vice Secretary of the Youth Union, got a certificate of merit for outstanding achievements in the 2014 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign; and Tran Minh Da Thao, Executive Committee member of the International School Union, received a certificate of merit for exemplary youth of the city in Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh. The organizers also awarded DTU the Second prize in the photography contest “Volunteering Impressions” in the context of this festival.

“During the recent 2014 Summer Volunteering Campaign, the Faculty of Civil Engineering Union Branch advised and teamed up with the DTU Youth Union to complete a 200 meter concrete road for the people in the Hoa Phu hamlet, Hoa Vang district” says Mr Pham Viet Hieu, Standing Committee member of the university Union and secretary of the DTU Faculty of Civil EngineeringUnion. "Before that, the Faculty Union coordinated with the students of Singapore Polytechnic to build a canteen, repaint rocking chairs and balustrades, and give assistancewith prestigious scholarships for the children at the Danang Village of Hope. For the future, we will continue participating in societal, voluntary, and charitable activities organized by the university or by the city."
Their achievements being praised and noted at the "2014 Youth Volunteer Festival - Union Awards and Honoring model youths following Ho Chi Minh’s teachings" will encourage the DTU Youth Union to continue its endeavors in community volunteering.
