On August 7th, DTU signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with FPT Software and the participants then discussed ways to improve the quality of IT education at DTU and expand their new partnership.
Initially representatives of FPT and DTU overviewed their missions, operations and accomplishments. Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong, Director of FPT Software Danang, said: “FPT is the first Vietnamese IT company to enter the Fortune 500 list of international software companies. FPT Software has taken strategic steps to achieve their objectives. Presently, we have more than 180 customers worldwide. In our development over the past few years, FPT Software has always placed great importance on human resources and we are grateful DTU for providing us with a large pool of young, capable graduates. We expect to assist in the definition of student qualifications, which will enable us to offer the optimum curricula to tailor their IT skills to match current local business requirements.”
The signing between DTU and FPT
Under the agreement, DTU and FPT Software will organize seminars introducing about job, process, business culture and recruitment and career advice for DTU students; hold field trip and create internship; collaborate in technology training and research and provide DTU lecturers and FPT staff opportunity to participate in conference and research projects.
At the event, FPT Software provide a training Program for new IT students in the 2014-2015 academic year. DTU students will study basic Database and SQL and Java topics, an advanced SQL Tutorial, Java Web, Software Requirements and Design, programming, testing, and so on.
Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Vice-Provost, said:
“It can’t be denied that the relationship between business and higher education is not strong enough, which results in an imbalance in the capabilities of graduates and the harsh demands of employers. DTU is delighted to partner with FPT Software, the leading provider of software outsourcing services in Vietnam. Fostering a close working relationship and understanding between us will greatly improve the quality of our IT graduates. The training program FPT Software transferred to DTU today will provide a great opportunity for DTU students to improve their qualifications and professional skills in preparation for their future careers. We hope that our partnership will be a great success.”
