At the ceremony, Ms. Le Nguyen Tue Hang, DTU Vice-Provost, said:
“The CSU program at DTU has gained significant success during its three years of development through the transfer of academic programs from one of the leading universities in the US, renowned for its Architecture and Civil Engineering. DTU students who study in the CSU program have the opportunity to learn about the most advanced methods, materials and technologies in Architecture and Construction. You should continue to study diligently to acquire even more knowledge and professional skills for your future careers. I expect that our partnership with California State University will continue to provide DTU with the finest academic programs in Architecture and Civil Engineering in the world.”
CSU Students receive Certificates of Completion
In 2011, DTU started to collaborate with CSU Fullerton, one of the leading public universities on the West Coast of America, to develop the very first advanced program in Architecture and Civil Engineering in Central Vietnam. Under the agreement, CSU Fullerton transferred 21 academic courses to DTU. In addition, DTU sent lecturers to the US to attend train-the-trainer sessions.
Professor Unnikrishnan said: “I was delighted to be invited here by Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co. I remember that three years ago I was at DTU to discuss the development of an academic partnership between the two universities. At first, we had no idea how to start the program until we fully understood its great benefits to the lecturers and students of your Architecture and Civil Engineering Faculty. CSU has sent several world-class experts to teach at DTU and I am happy with their contributions to our program. I personally believe that every academic program should focus on the three following goals: To satisfy the requirements of students and parents, to create a connection between students and lecturers and to serve the local community and society. We are so happy to contribute to the development of DTU and we expect to expand this partnership by offering to offer Vietnamese students even more advanced programs in the near future.”
CSU students will receive international certificates of completion for the 21 courses. Late in 2007, DTU also signed an agreement with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), one of the four leading American universities in Information Technology, for the licensing of Software Engineering and Information System curricula to DTU. In 2009, DTU collaborated with Pennsylvania University (PSU), well-known for its Business Management programs, to develop international-standard programs in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance and Banking and Tourism and Hospitality. DTU graduates of international programs always secure good job offers from local businesses.
