From May 20th to 21st, the DTU International School held undergraduate thesis defense committees for K16 students, including thirty-five K16CMU students majoring in Software Technology and Information System and eighty-seven K16PSU in Finance and Banking, Business Administration, Accounting and Auditing.
CMU students at the Capstone Defense Committee
Students from the DTU International School have the opportunity to study in cooperation with well-known universities worldwide, such as Carnegie Mellon University, one of the top four American universities in IT and Pennsylvania University, one of the top five America public universities. They benefit by learning from Vietnamese and foreign professors in these programs and receive international certification at the end. Students who graduate from the DTU International School are always highly respected for their knowledge, skills and capability by local companies.
The Undergraduate Defense Committee for PSU students
The educational quality is reflected in the students’ excellent theses and Capstones. At the Graduate Defense Committees, students are highly regarded for their careful preparation, the ability to present their theses in fluent English and their confidence in answering questions from the committee. Many theses are recognized for their new and useful ideas, including a thesis on programming applications for mobile phone support for government officials and another for construction of a general information gateway for DTU. In the Business Administration partnership program with PSU, the students’ theses were researched and developed using SPSS software, in order to survey factual data to create suitable and real solutions.
Tran Quoc Vuong, a student of K16 CMU TPM said:
“In order to prepare our Capstones, we must spend much time researching, looking for references, finishing the thesis in Vietnamese and then translating it into English. Equipped with the knowledge and English skills learned during the courses, and inspired by the enthusiasm of our lecturers, we completed the theses well. The additional ideas contributed by our teachers at the defense committee have helped us develop the theses further in order to create a really factual product.”
One hundred percent of the K16 CMU and K16 PSU students were successful in their thesis defense, demonstrating their study efforts and the quality of education at DTU.
